It would be nice to think that seeing miracles will have the same effect on a corporate CEO for example as years of suffering has had on an impoverished person who has come to know God as their only solace during hard times.

Unfortunately I think that this is precisely the reason miracles rarely occur. Miracles are an external manifestation that equivocate to an individual winning the lottery being seen as a miracle. It will neither strengthen faith (maybe at a go to church on Sunday superficial level) nor character.

Miracles hapend all the time, everywhere.
Miracle is really all there is.
I do not know why I had urge to post that, but here it is, as strong as it sound.

I don't know about that... If someone reaches out their hand and stops a taxi from running over a child in the street, I think that would qualify for a miracle and it has nothing to do with money... There are all kinds of miracles...

I have a question. Would anyone really recognise a miracle when/if it happened?
Or would it be passed off as a hoax?
There are so many people who organise hoaxs and pass them off as a real miracle.
So how would we truly know?

I never said they only had to do with money. The idea I'm trying to get across is that one-of events shouldn't and probably can't act as a foundation for our faith. For foundation we should talk to the homeless man with a clear stare who says God bless you when we give him a coin (have you noticed how many say this?)

To me a miracle is something that happens that goes outside of our normal causal expectations. When we are toddlers we attach causal relations between discrete events to make the world around us more understandable, eventually toddlers get so good at it, they can process most or all of the events going around them by only processing a small number of the discrete events and tying them together with the cause-and-effect assumption. A miracle breaks this.

So although I think the birth of a child, a sunset, a sunrise, a bird's song, etc. are beautiful, I wouldn't qualify them as a miracle because they don't break our causal patterns.

What is your understanding of difference between soul and spirit? Perhaps if I would use a spirit instead of soul....<<<


I personally believe the spirit and soul are one.

We (our souls) have lived/existed since GOD made us.

Remember in the Bible where Jesus say "Fear not the ones that can kill the body but fear Him that can kill the soul." (paraphrased)

If our souls were immortal now, they could not be killed, even by GOD.

Ok, we are gonna see some miracles.
Oftenly, when I think about miracles I think about superpowers.
Afterall, not ordinary abilities of cure might be considered a miracle, for example.

So, after thinking about it a little bit my question is:
What can be considered a miracle?

Hm, so I suppose geniality won't be a priviledge of few anymore?
And thinking neutral and focusing on the bad side, rare diseases will spead like flu?

Since a miracle it's something not ordinary doesn't mean that only good things will happen from that, right?

Agreed friend, yes it is a natural thing to some of us, but not to all.
