Haha yeah it sounds all great but having the fuel and runway available might become an issue. Don't think I haven't dreamt out ever scenario of stealing a plane or helicopter and swoop in like a white knight and save those I love!

Do NOT tangle with a Volcano that is a main feature of a volcanic island. Volcanoes in the Indonesian (SW Pacific) area have a history of extremely violent eruptions!! Think Tambora, Krakatoa!!

Also take a lesson from the eruption of Mt. Pelee on the Caribbean island of Martinique in 1902. The "authorities" told the locals that they were safe ... yet when it explosively erupted on May 8, 2002 only about 7 people survived out of about 27,000 who lived at or around the beautiful city of St. Pierre, called the "Paris of the Caribbean", at the time it erupted. The rest were basically incinerated within minutes.
