ISIS claimed responsibility, but it was probably just the one shooter -- so it wasn't that complex. For example, he could have put six or eight pieces of luggage on a luggage cart, gone in the elevator to the 32nd floor, taken them to his room. Then go back to his car a few hours later or even the next day, maybe with another load from home, and repeat. People do that kind of thing literally all the time in hotels. No one would have noticed or cared. Breaking the windows with a hammer was easy. Firing the weapons involved standing near a window, loading a rifle, pointing it at the crowd, and pulling the trigger. No aiming was needed, just basic gun operation skills. You can tell from the videos with include gunfire that there was a large time gap between magazine changes -- definitely not a sign of an expert. As far as the video he used, he apparently had a baby monitor -- again, not high tech. |

Another clue was Trump's demeanor when he made that comment. He actually seemed at ease, almost happy -- which makes sense for hitting back at ISIS, but not so much for a world-changing disaster like NK or Iran. |

In that light, it seems likely to me that Trump's recent "this could be the quiet before the storm" comment at the end of a meeting with US military leaders could easily refer to a big and soon-to-happen retaliatory strike against ISIS and/or the specific facilitators / enablers of the shooting. This would fit with Trump's "don't pre-announce military strategies" approach -- even down to things like having the FBI deleting evidence from the hotel's computers. The goal is not let ISIS (and therefore the public) know how much they really know about the shooter's connections to them. usa was killing syrian and iraqi sunni muslim women and children even before isis attack.so its not like it will change anything...in each bombings by planes so many families are killed by americans. |
