Bread shortages strike north Syria town
A bread crisis has hit Tel Tamr, a small town in the Syrian province of Hasaka. Turkey’s assault on northeast Syria has displaced tens of thousands of civilians from the border and demand for basic supplies has skyrocketed.

“We have to wait 3-4 hours for bread. We can’t get it. Why? I don’t know. Since the conflict started we don’t receive bread. Before that we were getting bread at home,” one resident told Rudaw.

“The situation was very good. All the neighborhood committees were taking bread to families. There were no problems,” a local baker told Rudaw.

The Serbian daily "Blic" claims that the United States has made Belgrade a no-go proposition: to recognize Kosovo's independence, and instead to bring the world's largest companies to Serbia. The publication adds that the barter proposed by the Americans was rejected by Belgrade, writes the B92 site.

The daily "Blic" also writes that the US special envoy for Kosovo, Richard Grenell, recently instructed Belgrade and Pristina to reach an agreement on mutual recognition, instead receiving a generous "economic prize" in the form an investment conference to be organized. The US official has promised to invite the largest companies in the world to invest in Serbia. A proposal which, "as expected, was rejected in Belgrade", the Serbian newspaper said.
