With the 50 to 70 mph winds it created a blast furnace effect with temps easily reaching2700 degrees Fahrenheit Quoting: Anonymous Coward 75606132 With that being the case of temps that extreme there is no way in hell that trees could survive and not be burned. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 27602092 Because it isn't the case. A blast furnace is a specific thing, not just high winds spreading embers. Trees survive forest fires until the forestry dept decided to justify their jobs by putting out the fires. Nature will burn off the fuel on the ground but the trees survived until there was so much fuel on the ground that the trees couldn't handle it. Once again we have a thread full of no knowledge people jumping to conclusions.
