To learn something. If you would have watched the video you would have found out that the father had to quit school in the third grade to help support the family.

My father made it to the 8th grade before he had to drop out to help support his parents.

People my age had parents who lived through the Great Depression and had a hard scrabble life. No jobs. No money. No safety nets like now. Nothing except their wits to survive.
