It's really good to use the ends with sloppy joe or tuna fish it doesn't get as soggy.

A 2002 study found that the crusts have 8% more nutrition than the softer inner bread. So I would think the heels are like big crusts and are loaded with nutrition.

The crust is more nutritious than the interior of the loaf. Of course you eat the heels.

I like bread loaf ends for hot dogs... as they are not so bready. I usually flip the hard side of an end slice into the sandwich.... or as the middle piece in a double-decker... Hardly notice that its different then.

When u buy a plastic bag covered loaf of bread, meaning the mass-produced, rectangular & square-sliced variety, do u throw away the end piece? or just reach past the 1st end piece, as most people do, then, after the loaf inner pieces are finished, throw away the end pieces with the bag?
This is what I have been referring to all long.

I don't eat what you call bread but from what I recall the ends don't taste any worst than the rest, and actually those were my favorite parts of the bread.

i use rice & cassava flour.
i add cheese to it
more than delicious & better than reg. wheat flour bread
