I honestly believe you are the first person I ever heard of say this

I've been at people's homes on many occasions & watch them throw out the bread end, when opening the bag of a new loaf. I watch in horror but say nothing. How many TRILLIONS of tons of wasted fresh bread ends go into landfills or incinerators, etcetera?

Even a bread maker is a pain in the ass compared to spending $3 a week for a loaf at the grocery store.

I'd pay extra for a loaf of just ends.

I actually eat the ends too, I'm a mom of 4 and I save the rest for them, I really don't mind it.

We get the sourdough rounds and the ends are the best. All kinds of holes throughout the piece that collect whatever you spread on it OR dip it in.

A big flat bowl filled with clams n mussels has all that shellfish flavored butter that soaks up so nice in those ends.

The heels make great pb&j sammiches

Ilike to use the heel and the slice nexttoit

put a heavy doseof jelly on the heel and a heavy doseof peanut butter on the other slice

the heel can take the super juicy jelly and not fall to mush

Last Christmas time we received an equivalent of two and a half loaves of ends from a baker friend. They were like variety packs with different bread heals put together in loaves. Even some ends of French and Italian loaves too. I was selfish and hoarded them like a 6 yr old with a new Christmas toy.
