Seventh Fort Riley soldier found dead since July | |

(KSNT) – Fort Riley officials say another soldier was found dead on base this week. According to a release from Fort Riley, Sgt. 1st Class Jamie Boone with the Dagger brigade was found dead in his on-post residence on Thursday. [link to ksnt.com] JUNCTION CITY, Kan. (KSNT) – Fort Riley reports a 1st Infantry Division soldier was found dead in Junction City on Monday. This is the fifth Fort Riley solider to die in the past two months. In July, Staff Sergeant Alejandro Jonathan Franquiz, was found dead in his vehicle. In August, Peter James Robbins, was killed during an officer involved shooting incident in Junction City, Specialist Robert Cox died from a gun shot wound, and on August 19, Pvt. John Martinez, was found unconscious in his barracks room at Fort Riley’s base where he was taken to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead. Boone joined the Army in June 2002 and arrived at Fort Riley in July 2014. He was 43 years old. Boone deployed to Afghanistan in 2002, Iraq in 2003 and 2006 and South Korea in 2010. The Fort Riley Criminal Investigation Command office is looking into his death. So he was no whippersnapper.
