It's not a thing anymore, I was pretty young when it was going on, then all of a sudden "poof" like a lot of things as I look back. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 75727456 It's all bullshit. Its twoo i tell you... Its very very real, my hypothesis is that its because desertification is the new star, ie its too warm to rain anymore...! w22 |

Welcome to the world of "climate change". Don't worry, people are becoming numb to this idea and are starting to disbelieve it. There will be a new trendy death conception coming soon. Doom on, as always. |

Ive had hole watch on jobs watching over scrubber as guys scraped what looks like 9inch thick meth off the scrubber floors with a bobcat front end loader into trucks.for disposal.nasty stuff.i think its refined back into garden sulphur fertilizer. We still get some acid but mild really.my stuff rust just a little faster up here compared to my home town.im a 1/2 mile from coal burner unit that burns lignite/high sulphur. |

Anonymous Coward (OP) User ID: 75689318 United Kingdom 10/20/2017 11:40 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | probably once SO2 was removed from fuels acid rains reduced drastically. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 64041335 They never got rid of so2 from fuel ... the so2 comes from the BURNING of fuel, this is why the horizon in London and every major city is ORANGE ....! Perhaps with the recent 'storm' cloud effect in the UK the other day or week, which was put down to Saharan sand surely they meant Spanish sand but hey..! Of course Spain alongside most of southern europe is desertifying at an alarming rate. Still with the increase of petrol burn and C02 one might expect an increase in Hydrochloric acid. Its a cover up of course - there is probably just as much so2 being produced today, as ever before, and acid rain will be just as prevalent imho. This amounts to the hold that the petrochemical comapnies have over media. I guess acid rain was just too politically incorrect. w22 |

In the presence of UV light, chlorine atoms will take the place of hydrogen atoms within the C-H bonds of methane to form C-Cl bonds. The remaining chlorine atom (since chlorine is a diatomic, Cl2) will form a bond with the displaced hydrogen atom, forming HCl. [link to www.quora.com (secure)] w22 |
