For those with an interest in The Bible...what is the overwhelming attraction to Halloween among adults even more than children?

No adults have a thought on this eh

It is just another worldly holiday like christmas

Excuse to sell stuff and get fat

Fascination with death and an underlying sense of eternal damnation.

The intent matters when celebrating a holiday. One person celebrates halloween as an excuse to get free candy and wear silly costumes with no meaning beyond that. The other celebrates the spiritual origins of it. They're celebrating two different holidays.

It was originally meant to honor those who perished in the flood, right?

When it comes to the origins of something..can they really be seperated?

That is part of it...and who did God destroy in the flood besides unfaithful humans?

I don't know really any adults who are into halloween, well 1 but he gets his place all decorated up for his kids.

Most adults aren't into it OP other than for their kids.


Of course Christ would condemn it, it is clearly an evil holiday. Any Christian who would say otherwise as that "new fangled" style of christianity, you know the one without Christ where they make their own rules to suite themselves.

In the city I have lived in for 39 years, it is HUGE with adults.....the parties are not one's that include children and most of the homes are decorated without the residence of children....each year it becomes more and more pronounced....

Parents teach their children that extortion of their neighbours is fun.

Disguise yourself and say.

"Trick... or treat"

Pretty much the same MO as holding up a 7-11. Innocent fun.

Certainly not as dangerous as the Governing Body of Jehovah's Witnesses policy that creates a safe haven for child molesters in thier kingdom halls thru out the world. Just saying

The story goes deeper, Genesis sheds light on it.....the unfaithful demons came to earth and had unnatural relations with human women, the result was the Nephelim, half human, half demon offspring, which caused a rapid increase of violence on the earth, the flood destroyed both unfaithful humans and the offspring of the demons...the Nephelim....

Children learn from parents do they not? Would they even know about Halloween if not for adults?

It's essentially praising death and darkness.
Witchcraft and stuff. Stay away.

Halloween is what pagans believe to be the best time to talk to the dead.

Do you still think it's innocent?

A mask or costume is used as a form of disguise!

Why?

To hide ones true self or nature!

The trees do not die, only the leaves, but what a display of magnificance they give on their way out, a most unique and gorgeous time of year.....too bad the holiday is around that time....

It's about dressing up, getting candy and carving pumpkins. What the weirdos do to celebrate the day is completely different than what normal people do.
