I'm 61 and benched 300lbs recently. My goal is 315. It's about the process of improvement and confidence you gain being strong.
But I actually look pretty darn good and no steroids.
Quoting: Anonymous Coward 72148655 Maybe you have good genetics then. But 80% of gym goers still look like shit, so your anecdote doesn't prove anything. And NO, it's not about any "process", it's about looking as good as you can as fast as you can. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 75755922 Yeah, I actually do have good genetics but found I could no longer get by without effort in my 50s. I have something now that I never had before when I was young which is patience and dedication. I don't worry about when I get to my goal. As long as I am going upward I don't worry about the angle of take off. Perhaps you are just young and impatient but I think Poles typically have good genetics for weight lifting. That being said I'll repeat what others have already been saying, you don't do it for other people (women) you do it for yourself.
