Tolerate the Intolerable - Left Silent About Sharia in Minnesota
Left Silent About Sharia in Minnesota
by Robert Spencer

It’s been a quiet week here at Lake Wobegon. Aunt Tillie had to cut short her big vacation in Paris -- she got caught in a riot at the train station and you’ll never believe it, she got tear-gassed. She’s all right, but you can imagine the mood she was in when she arrived at the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport. Poor thing, she went straight to a duty-free shop and bought a big bottle of Merlot.

But then the cab driver told her, “You can’t bring that wine into my taxi!” He said it was against his religion. Poor Tillie was so distraught, she didn’t know what to do. She decided to call Uncle Pete on his cell phone. Pete was with Uncle Fred at Target, but they were held up -- Pete was buying a pepperoni pizza, but the checkout girl refused to ring it up! She said it was against her religion too! Well, when Pete got Tillie’s call, he just left the pizza, told Fred and his seeing-eye dog to come along, and caught the bus to the airport.

By the time they got there, Tillie was in a state. Pete told her to put the Merlot in her suitcase. Tillie did as he directed, and she and Pete got into the cab line with Fred and his seeing-eye dog. Well, I wouldn’t have liked to have seen the look on Pete’s face when the cab drivers told him, one after the other, that they wouldn’t carry Fred’s dog either. They told them that he was blind and that Checkers was a seeing-eye dog, but they didn’t care.

Luckily, Mrs. Hanson’s son came along -- remember Ted Hanson, the traveling salesman? He got them all, the dog too, into his SUV and drove them home. And boy, did he have a story to tell! It seems that he was flying out of Minneapolis a few months ago, and there were some men on the plane acting, well, you know, suspicious. They asked for seatbelt extensions, and then they didn’t hook them on. Instead, they put them under their seats. They also changed their seats so that a couple of them were sitting by all the entry and exit points of the plane. And they were praying, loudly -- as if they wanted people to notice them, you know? Well, they got their wish. Several passengers -- Ted included -- notified the flight attendants, and pretty soon these men were off the plane. It’s a long story, but it turns out that the men who were taken off the plane were Islamic imams, and they’re suing. They say they were victims of discrimination, that they were taken off the plane because they’re Muslims. And Ted says they’re not just suing the airline -- they’re suing him, and the other people who complained. I don’t mind telling you, there ought to be a law against that.

And come to think of it, there ought to be a law against all the rest of it too. Minnesota has become a hotbed of Sharia agitation in the United States. The first Muslim congressman, Keith Ellison, is from Minnesota. It should not be forgotten that he addressed a banquet held by the Council on American Islamic Relations, which is deeply involved with the suit against the airline and passengers, two days before the Flying Imams were bounced from their flight, and met with Omar Shahin, the leader of the Flying Imams, the day before. Now we see Muslim cabdrivers discriminating against passengers and Muslim store employees discriminating against customers, and none of the state’s Leftist establishment says a thing. Where they fought alongside Martin Luther King and the civil rights movement to end racial discrimination, apparently religious discrimination is just fine with them.

Apparently the left in Minnesota, as elsewhere, can’t see beyond their hatred of George Bush to realize how they themselves will be victimized by their new friends if those friends get the upper hand. Minnesota liberals should stop trying to tolerate the intolerable.

It may be that soon, we will find that a woman wearing jeans will be refused service by a Muslim clerk, or that Sharia death sentences imposed upon teen girls who were raped.

I am _really_ glad I don't live in South Minneapolis any more. Twenty years of denial, and "tolerance" for criminal violence, was enough for me. I've been gone from there for more than five years and I've never looked back.

I used to read all the free papers "rags" I called them, just for something to read. The suffocating liberal bias practically made me mentally ill. One time I was reading some long piece about "Mumia" (why, I don't know, it was before the internet and I was desperate for a constant flow of reading material, I guess) and a good description of the liberal mindset came to me

"You're always supposed to side with the underdog, no matter what they did"

Anyway I quit reading the free papers after that and haven't read them since. I got sick of cop-bashing and sympathy for violent criminals. My neighborhood was going downhill fast and all I was hearing was horror stories from the surrounding area (wasn't that far from Franklin & Chicago).

I lived across the street from a seven story building that was all white professionals when I moved onto that block. In less than ten years it was transformed to all Somalis and Mexicans. It was interesting at first, it was certainly lively. I can't say I miss all the cab drivers out there at two in the morning having a lively discussion re-enacting all the fights they witnessed (apparently) every night. And that was the least of it . .

Well they can have Minneapolis, I am out of there . . .can't afford to live there anyway.

My mistake, when I cut the article I left out a line.

"Here's a Prairie Home Companion episode you'll never hear:"

The author gave Prairie Home credit for the story.

Sorry. It was unintentional. Thanks for pointing it out.

Fortunately in my country we have only crazy fundamentalist Christians in government, but at least there are no goatfucking pedophile-worshippers around I didn't realise it's that bad over there. If you could travel in time and get back to Germany of 1920's and 30's would you be tolerant to nazis???? If we dont stop with the PC BS, we'll be deep in shit in no time at all both the EU where I live and the US;
my message to all muslims coming to or living in EU and US is:
Adopt our lifestyle or get the fuck out of here and fuck your goats, mutilate and harass your women and indulge in any of your middleage religious practices worshipping your mass-murderer somewhere else!!!!!!!!!!!!!

To AC177705... you have made your point.

Now let's get back to the intent of this article please. I too lived in Minneapolis, for only one year, but it was a LONG year!! The people I saw there were always very concerned about their image. Not the reality... the image.

That is difficult to live.

Capitalism? No! Corporatism? Socialism? Fascism? A resounding YES!!!

Heck, nearly ALL cut & paste threads here are copyrighted materials, so do you accuse everyone of infringement? Do you even include yourself in that bunch if you C&P?

As for Minnesota, I just recently vacated that state back just a bit over 2 months ago, after nearly 38 years of calling it "home". It is a state of maniacal welfare state for those who are either too lazy to work or for illegals, and the society at large is one that believes birth = entitlement (just because they were born, SOMEONE other than themselves needs to see to it their needs are met). It is a state that is very intrusive into private affairs, not only government, but people who do not take the time or make the effort to get to know their neighbor. The hearts of the major population are colder than the weather, with neighbors ratting out each other on a continuous basis, never even considering how inept they themselves are. MN is not a "free state" by any means, when even the flowers in your garden MUST MEET certain codes, you cannot have a house the color of your choosing (given 4-7 options), and I would venture to say that soon you will need a permit to change the toilet paper roll (a bit exaggerated, but a point to be made). Of course, northern MN is quite different, from say about 20 miles north of Duluth on up.

Living has become a ball and chain in MN. The average house price exceeds the average joe income by 8-10 times. Illegal immigrants have reduced the wages of slave labor extremely. Property taxes are outrageous, as are state and local taxes. And LOTS LOTS more!

Well, geez, we already have ultra-conservative Christians who refuse to fill birth-control prescriptions here in TX, and they've refused to fill the morning-after pill for a rape victim, too. Y'all need to pay attention to the FANATICS...of every type.
"Until you are willing to organize your friends and neighbors and literally shut down cities - drive at 5mph through the streets of major cities on the freeway and stop commerce, refuse to show up for work, refuse to borrow and spend more than you make, show up in Washington DC with a million of your neighbors and literally shut down The Capitol you WILL be bent over the table on a daily basis." Hey, I live in South Minneapolis, and I love it! Although, I gotta admit that Chicago & Franklin is like night and day compared to the area around Minnehaha Falls! I do all my shopping at Rainbow/Target, etc. on Lake Street – never had a problem. With me, it’s the other way around. Grew up in a western suburb - couldn’t stand it - left 25 years ago and never looked back!

Little aside: If I am ever checked out by the bitch at Target that wouldn’t ring up the pizza cause it had sausage on it - watch out!

Quoting AC 4776: "Little aside: If I am ever checked out by the bitch at Target that wouldn’t ring up the pizza cause it had sausage on it - watch out!"

hahahaha... me too. My kids always asked me to puh-leez DO NOT embarrass them more than I did... but seldom stopped me if my ire was up.

however-- with what we are learning about so many things today... eating pizza pre-made and sold at target is not the best idea for personal safety, lol.

The clerks who refuse to ring it up would need to find another job if I were their supe.

USA is a country based on tolerance supposedly. Now I'm supposing it was just another lie given us in our history lessons. We peoples can still BE tolerant, not only of our own diversities but of others'. If we were in nearly any other country in the world, we are expected to function similarly to those who are native residents. This USA has not required newcomers to adapt to US, partially based upon our Constitution, which I support with my life. (the Constitution as it was written by our ancesters)
