So Does Life Flash By in the Blink of an Eye, Or Drag Out One Minute at a Time?
Or both? The wife keeps lamenting how fast the time flies. How quickly the kids grow up. How fast we age. I understand the concept, but for me at least, life seems to drag on hour by hour, day be day, decade after decade. When I look back after 63 years in this plane of existence, I am amazed at the many lives I seem to have lived. The many phases or chapters that when you add them all up simply stagger my mind as to how much I have been through and how much work I have had to do for so long now. How's life going for you guys?

Both...depends on how long it takes...I have seen both and both pretty much suck but I will much rather take the shorter one when it happens a final time.

Standing in line at the DMV or Post Office is akin to seconds crawling over each other like slugs.

Standing at the altar on your wedding day is the fastest 20 minutes of your life.

Re: So Does Life Flash By in the Blink of an Eye, Or Drag Out One Minute at a Time?
Yes, it is all a matter of perspective to be sure. Those with better memories will say that it goes on forever while those who forget quickly see it pass by in seconds. There is no right or wrong, only one or the other. I am only interested in hearing various points of view.

An easy point to make and a hard one to argue, though we Americans have probably forgotten the value in a simple existence.

Finding the level of activity that is right for us is as individual as we are. Once we understand how much activity we can schedule for any time period and learn to meter it out accordingly it all gets better. Too much, too often can burn us all out.

You are certainly a classic my friend, and so much like my oldest buddy. It is good that there is so much room for varied lifestyles in this place. You definitely add much value, thank you.

Re: So Does Life Flash By in the Blink of an Eye, Or Drag Out One Minute at a Time?
My life, has been a whirlwind. To much of a story to even start, plus I'm a horrible writer. Long story short, I love my wife of soon 25 years. Of those years there has been a lot of life lived, she lost her father much more early than he should have left, cancer at 69.

My own Father at 92 just fell last Friday and broke his pelvis in 3 places, he can't come home yet so he is not happy. He is being sent to an assisted living facility, until he can take somewhat care of himself.

He is a WW2 vet, in the south pacific. Navy, he is down to 120# and very frail. That is hard to see, he was at one time 6' 240.
