Need to make a tough decision would love some thoughts. Stay in NJ or move to the suburbs of Atlanta? Have less than 3 weeks to decide.

I lived on the northEAST of Atlanta back in the mid 80's (DOraville) which was nice back then. All black now.

You want to live northWEST of Atlanta: Dunwoody is most expensive. Sandy Springs, Cumberland, Smyrna would all be better.

Whatever you do, absolutely stay away from anything and everything SOUTH of downtown. Danger zones, ALL of them.

Georgia is a wonderful state. People are actually nice and polite compared to the people in the East and Midwest.
Plus winters are so much milder down South. Go for it!

You will live in your car, their public transpiration is crappy and goes no where. And the traffic there even with six lanes is horrendous, people leave because the traffic and commutes even a couple of miles are horrendous.

And, everyone says the city proper is getting like Chicago and Baltimore.
