Need to make a tough decision would love some thoughts. Stay in NJ or move to the suburbs of Atlanta? Have less than 3 weeks to decide. | |

Because of the traffic, we cannot really recommend an area unless we know what is logical for you. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 75802399 I lived down in Peachtree City for years - look it up on YouTube. It's a golf cart community and everyone drives around a golf cart. Pretty fun and nice place to raise kids. But, that's on the south side and while it is close enough to the airport, you wouldn't want to commute north. Pretty good schools. I am up by Helen now, up in the mountains. I drive in to Gainsville often and that is nice and you could live on Lake Lanier. But then again, the commute depends on the location. My son and his wife live between Marietta and Kennesaw. That is great for them because the shopping is good and there are some nice areas which do not cost a ton, like some of the northern burbs. The company is MBUSA "MERCEDES" It's right off the 400 in Sandy Spings right next to Dunwoody. We looked at places we liked less than 3 miles away. Thanks! Oh in that case look at Gainesville/Suanee Thanks! Idk how the traffic is from there tho. My main concern is if we can afford it cause we have a sweet deal here in NJ. But this POS asshole Murphy is gonna win today and be our next Gov. The prick already said he's gonna go ape shit on the new gun laws. Hell my .22s will be assualt rifles. IDK I love it here for many reasons but I'm so damn sick of these libtard assholes. Idk much about Atlanta, we just took a trip and seems nice in areas like Buckhead,Sandy Springs, Dunwoody. I know the traffic blows, but it would be nice to not be a felon here and finally get a CCW. But on another thread people were just saying how bad Atlanta is so IDK? Any advice would be nice. Thanks! Quoting: Munsoned I lived on the northEAST of Atlanta back in the mid 80's (DOraville) which was nice back then. All black now. You want to live northWEST of Atlanta: Dunwoody is most expensive. Sandy Springs, Cumberland, Smyrna would all be better. Whatever you do, absolutely stay away from anything and everything SOUTH of downtown. Danger zones, ALL of them. |

Plus winters are so much milder down South. Go for it! |

The people there are uber wealthy and obnoxious with not much good education. They panic when they have a little snow and there are tons of accidents. You will live in your car, their public transpiration is crappy and goes no where. And the traffic there even with six lanes is horrendous, people leave because the traffic and commutes even a couple of miles are horrendous. And, everyone says the city proper is getting like Chicago and Baltimore. |

Quoting: A Friend You will be moving into a different way of living. People will actually be really different in some ways to what you are used to. If you are ready for radical change then do it for the life experience.
