You're basically trading one libtard shithole for another.. Apart from Atlanta, Georgia is definitely a better state politically overall. Those southern bells with their sweet southern charm and friendliness are hard to resist! Quoting: BoatyMcBoatFace Haha thanks, but I already have a great wife. At least the gun laws down there are way better. NJ is about to get worse than it already is. Move to Kennesaw - their local law requires home owners to possess a gun! I love the way they bring there liberal crap down here ,that all you here is dam Yankees wanting to go screw up the south , dont see us southerners trying to flee north ,they wanna flee the cesspools they created and fuck up the south. Stay in NJ or move to the suburbs of Atlanta? Have less than 3 weeks to decide. OP, if you actually like living in Jersey and have a sweet deal, I'd recommend you stay put, for now anyway. Once you move out of the Northeast, you'll never be able to move back. It's too expensive to start over again once you've left. My cousin who moved from NJ to Ohio said it would be financially impossible to come back now. What if you live in GA for a year and it totally sucks? Like, you get tired of grits and cornbread and just want a taylor ham/pork roll? That might sound like a silly example, but it's true: you don't miss something until it's gone. There's so many differences between the NE and South that you're not aware of, and you may not like what you find, and may miss what you've always taken for granted. Keep that in mind. |

Per square foot cost in Georgia - even Atlanta should be much better than NJ. Atlanta 'metro' on the north is over halfway to Chattanooga. If your wife will work on northside of city the options are outstanding. |

Sandy Springs, Roswell, Kennesaw, and East Marietta (pronounced 'may-retta) are pretty nice. It is almost like there is a 5 mile wide layer of filth that goes around I285, keep that in mind too. But yea, move south brotha! If nothing else the air is clean, the tea is sweet, and life is good. |

As a gun owner I would never move back to NJ and you won’t either once you live someplace you can walk into a gun store and buy something without having gotten an FID and permit to purchase. Wait until you can buy standard capacity mags and pistol ammo online! All characters and events in this forum --even those based on real people-- are entirely fictional. As much as I love it here I'm just sick of living in a commie hell hole. I lived in AZ for 3 years And it was great except for the heat. Someone will pay for us to leave and that will prob never happen again. So fuck you, I'm out! Quoting: Munsoned You will have a blast. Op, Both of these areas are leftist havens if not a leftist yourself can you make a difference as for myself we will be retiring to a conservative state and hope those disenfranchised leftists shirk areas where a work ethic is paramount and the weather hostile. |

Stay in NJ or move to the suburbs of Atlanta? Have less than 3 weeks to decide. My wifes company moved to Atlanta, she's been able to stay here in NJ but now needs to make the choice. My main concern is if we can afford it cause we have a sweet deal here in NJ. But this POS asshole Murphy is gonna win today and be our next Gov. The prick already said he's gonna go ape shit on the new gun laws. Hell my .22s will be assualt rifles. IDK I love it here for many reasons but I'm so damn sick of these libtard assholes. Idk much about Atlanta, we just took a trip and seems nice in areas like Buckhead,Sandy Springs, Dunwoody. I know the traffic blows, but it would be nice to not be a felon here and finally get a CCW. But on another thread people were just saying how bad Atlanta is so IDK? Any advice would be nice. Thanks! Quoting: Munsoned I lived outside in Snellville for some time. Its somewhat close to Buckhead. If you have the money and living is easy I say move to buckhead. Depends where you both work. If you have to drive a 20 minute drive to work which isn't that bad, that literally will take you about 2 hours each way to got to work and home. On average 1hr to 1.5 hours at the higher end. 2 hours like twice a month may be. Really depends where you are and how to get to work. It is so horrible me or my stepmom who had a very good job in insurance , eventually did everything we could to get a transfer anywhere. If you can stay downtown Atlanta you can use public transport. The MARTA is awesome and easy. Somewhat ghetto sometime but safe most of the time. I would always cary a knife in my pocket though no joke, just in case. if you travel on Marta when everyone does for work during rush hour or special events you are ok. If you want to live in a nice suburb where you would raise your kids witht he neighbors you have over and stuff like that, I would say Buckhead. Need lots of money to live there though. But if you are anywhere not out in the outskirts of nowhere Georgia, in Gwinette county which is huge. You are going to hate life going to work. If you can move somewhat close to your job then it will be no problem. If you have to drive more than 20 miles you are going to hate life. Not sure what Jersey is like, never lived there. Lived alla round it though. Honestly I hated living in Atlanta, but If you can either live in a nice area liek Buckhead and not drive far to work, then life is good and easy, and quite nice actually. |

Because of the traffic, we cannot really recommend an area unless we know what is logical for you. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 75802399 I lived down in Peachtree City for years - look it up on YouTube. It's a golf cart community and everyone drives around a golf cart. Pretty fun and nice place to raise kids. But, that's on the south side and while it is close enough to the airport, you wouldn't want to commute north. Pretty good schools. I am up by Helen now, up in the mountains. I drive in to Gainsville often and that is nice and you could live on Lake Lanier. But then again, the commute depends on the location. My son and his wife live between Marietta and Kennesaw. That is great for them because the shopping is good and there are some nice areas which do not cost a ton, like some of the northern burbs. The company is MBUSA "MERCEDES" It's right off the 400 in Sandy Spings right next to Dunwoody. We looked at places we liked less than 3 miles away. Thanks! You need to go 3 more exits north on the 400. Haynes Bridge, Old Milton, very nice areas, Alpharetta, Milton and Johns Creek area is 3rd in the nation as great places to live. Yes Northeast Atlanta is where it's at. Also in an emergency the N. GA mountains are just 2 hrs up the 400. Green trees and flowers all year long. Stay away from areas inside the perimeter, taxes will eat you alive. MrsTomatoHead |
