im gonna wait and see before buying any more crypto..

i think december january will be very bouncy and volatile on all levels

politically, globally, personally, socially, culturally, etc..

what a hell of a year
 Quoting: Grove Street

Yeah that makes sense to me. I’m pretty well set with a very diverse portfolio so if anything does moon I’ll make serious bank. I’m gonna build of some money to burn and maybe chuck it at something in the spring when everything is on its knees.

i agree..i got into xrp late, but it was still pennies,,

so even if it only ever gets above a couple dollars ive done well

I pretty much have my bags packed but if it dips again it's going to be hard not to add just that little bit to round up to the next number . . .

Some people on this thread don't seem to know much about XRP, I think it has a LOT of upside and the price has been held down while they get the global infrastructure in place that's going to use it. It's a very important coin. If I sell anything it will only be 5% when it hits a certain level.

They say to cash out a little at a time on the way up . . . since it's so hard to call a top.

For cashing out for starters you can just swap it to a stablecoin in your wallet.

Guys I hope you are not leaving your coins on the exchanges. If you're really not up for making things more complicated please at least use the vault at coinbase.

But what I did was buy a small refurbished laptop of a sturdy brand that I trust, and downloaded Exodus and Atomic wallets onto it. It only cost about 200.00. I only use it for crypto, I hook it up, do what I need to do between coinbase and my wallets, then I put it away. I do not surf the internet with it, use email or anything else, just crypto only.

good info, thanks.. i will look into the wallet stuff you menytioned..i admit im a fairly newbie so thanks

Re: Ripple xrp who’s got it
If you download the Atomic and Exodus wallets there is a point in the set-up where they ask you to

write down your "seed phrase"

which is a 12 or 14 word phrase that is your top security issue of all time.

You don't want to take a photo of that with your phone, or put it in a document in your computer, or put it anywhere digital on or offline.

You need to write it carefully on a piece of paper, make a couple of copies, check it 18,000 times, then put those pieces of paper in two different SECURE locations in a plastic bag to protect against water.

Ideally I guess you'd have a fire proof safe, safety deposit box, etc.

If someone stole your seed phrase they could reconstruct your wallet and steal all your crypto. They might need your password too I don't even know but don't keep your seed phrase with your passwords!

And when you start learning about all this stuff, take notes! Get a dedicated notebook to write in and make a separate book for all your crypto related passwords too.

Do all the extra security things like using 2 step authentication on Coinbase and on the email address you use for crypto.

Use protonmail for crypto and make an address that's only for that with a good password and don't use it for anything else.

If you buy on coinbase then you can send your coins to your exodus or atomic addresses.

This is a steep learning curve and intimidating! You might as well get started if you haven't been moving crypto around up til now.

You need to read the tutorials at coinbase and for each wallet.

When you click on your asset it will give you an option to

send or receive

so you would "send" from coinbase

and "receive" in your wallet

You click receive in your wallet and it displays your address for that particular asset.

you click the button to copy that address, then go to that asset in coinbase and paste it into the place where it asks where you want to send it.

For XRP and XLM going to your exodus or atomic wallet, it will ask, do you want to include a tag? You don't need to for that particular transaction but you might need it if you were sending to a person or something, I don't know.

ONLY SEND A LITTLE AT A TIME. Double check to make sure the address you pasted is the same as the address in your destination wallet.

You can get the spark token airdrop in exodus so send your XRP there before Dec. 12.

You can send an asset off of Coinbase, say, XLM, to Atomic, and in ATomic wallet you can swap that for ZIL and you can stake ZIL in Atomic for a return on your investment plus ZIL has a lot of upside I think.

Not financial advice.

Old swift system- slow, high fees are expensive, 5% of payments do not arrive

Xrp- settles any $ across the world in under 10 sec , anytime, anywhere- fees are fraction of a penny

Yeah I always do a couple of mini transfers whatever I do, then go bigger. It’s amazing how easy it is to lose concentration and make simple mistakes when doing crypto stuff, it’s probably the visualising wallet addresses somehow melts the brain. They’re crazy to look at somehow.

No it’s bad because it’s just money redistribution, crypto was made to make poor people poorer and rich richer but of course some people made money in the beginning but that had to happen to con people.

Yeah thats why you use your money to buy things that will help your survival, crypto is just a gateway to financial wealth transfer from poor to the wealthy so they can stock up for the impending cme. And the reason the crypto market is spiking now is because usa congress will pass a stimulus bill in the next two weeks and they are going to siphon a lot of stimulus check and unemployment money like they did 6 months ago. The wealthy insiders were told by pelosi/mcconnell/schumer.

There wont be a chance to use crypto in the way they portray it.

If you knew someone who bought bitcoin way back when when it was 45 cents, because it was at one time, would you think they got a pretty good deal when we're sitting here today years later and it's knocking on $20,000 door?

You could buy some now, then buy the next dip, I'm pretty sure there will be a dip, but what if there isn't?

Even Chainlink LINK, I bought at 4.50, it's 14.00 now and has been almost 20.00 recently.

XRP has a huge network of infrastructure at the highest level of banking. I kind of believe the people that say, one day they will flip a switch and all the payment rails will change over to the Ripple net blockchain system using XRP as the bridge currency for international settlements between currencies.

Plus a lot of people say Ripple and XRP are like Amazon. They are starting out in payment settlement but they intend to be EVERYTHING in the future. Like Amazon started out in books.

Open an account on Kraken and transfer funds in. Fuck coinbase and their high fees.
 Quoting: DarthNiloc

I think that the Coinbase Earn feature where you earn crypto for free by watching videos and taking quizzes, has paid for whatever fees I've incurred on the platform. You earn odd coins then you can trade them for what you want, XRP or XLM or whatever.

Also I made a Kraken account, I'm completely registered with them, but you can't use Kraken in Washington State! Isn't that dumb. I thought it would change when Kraken became a bank. Maybe it will soon.

 Quoting: WannaBet?

There's a chart that was posted on Twitter that all my crypto guys on youtube keep showing, it's a response to a poll

Does it matter if XRP goes up a penny?

They showed how much you would make on your holdings at a one cent price increase at each quantity level of XRP that you held.

For instance at 10,000 XRP if the price went up a penny you would make one hundred dollars.

That was something I learned very early with the crypto!

I haven't been much of a high roller in my life so I never learned that

10% of a big number is a big number!

That was a life lesson for me!

I put far more into crypto this year than I would have ever believed possible on my small income and my unemployed state. I guess I just didn't spend any money on anything else and whatever extra money I got went straight into crypto and I went out on a limb too. No regrets. You gotta take a risk in an atmosphere of uncertainty like this.

I don’t believe in XRP.

They distribute 1 billion coins a month? They buy back the coins to “stimulate” (read: simulate) growth. Everyone claims utility but not a single person is using it for that. It’s a literal day trade coin with a very thin facade, I think.

It is NOTpre-mined. It is pre-generated...

Bitcoin is a decentralized crypto (no matter what you claim about CCP), where XRP is centrally controlled by Ripple Inc. That means there is no mining.

Ripple Inc is the issuer of XRP tokens and they are in a position to print how much ever they want. According to Ripple Inc, they plan for a total number of XRP less than or equal to 100 billion tokens.

Btc was a great investment 5-10 years ago, but it is outdated tech, high fees, network clogs & slows with transactions. The time to make profits has come & gone, most people cannot even afford 1/10th of one
