Do people really understand what is happening? Open Banking is coming closer to a reality for UK consumers, but what is it, what needs to happen for it to be a reality and why should you care? Fortunately for consumers the CMA is forcing the banks to adhere to open banking standards by January 13 2018. ????????? The new rules state that banks must create open APIs so that customer data can be shared between organisations and be incorporated into third party applications in a common, consistent format. Example link [link to bank.marksandspencer.com (secure)] Link this in with recent bank software investments, welfare, tax and other government forays into a Universal benefit system and you have the BEAST ready and waiting. The only opt out, it appears, is to close accounts. It is a large area, with implications of a nightmare scenario for societal existence for the individual and their personal sovereignty. So I suggest everybody do their own research very quickly, before Jan, 2018, to see what effects on your life very soon and the future. Brexit for example will be too late for this European trespass on your position in UK. The new banking rules WILL affect every UK citizen. Check out how it will affect you! Who do you trust? Tom Dick and Harry run businesses, work for the Gov, live in your street. There are worse things than manipulating your bank account. Important consequences of societal control. That is one of the points...privacy when it comes to banks and businesses exchanging your data or manipulation by gov. is a contradiction in terms. I was told by a techy friend that if they outlawed the encryption codes used by watsapp the banking system would have to be opened too.
