I fail to understand how a word can be offensive.

Etymology: alteration of earlier neger, from Middle French negre, from Spanish or Portuguese negro, from negro black, from Latin niger

Nigger means black.

Thats why black people are called niggers.
It is only offensive because people choose to make it so.

Theres a lot more important things to worry about in this world than nigger brown labels.

The Federal Government has told the United Nations that the pejorative "nigger" may be used publicly without necessarily being racially offensive.

The government made the assertion in a submission asking the UN to dismiss a complaint to its Committee on the Elimination of Racial Discrimination by Toowoomba Aboriginal leader Stephen Hagan.

Mr Hagan has objected to the refusal by the Toowoomba Sports Ground Trust, trustee of the Toowoomba Athletic Oval, to drop the pejorative from the name of its grandstand, the E.S. Nigger Brown Stand.

His request for a ruling that Australia is in breach of the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Racial Discrimination was referred by UN Secretary-General Kofi Annan to Australia's UN mission for a response in August. The 47-page response was sent to the mission this week.

Not all blacks are low-IQ and not all whites and asians are high IQ. That is BS. What's not BS is that the black family life has been destroyed more effectively than white families

Problem is that many black people put an emphasis on
sex, being dumb, being entitled, being into drugs and crime. Sad to say it's hard for an intelligent hard working black person to make it in this country unless they "act" totally white. Even then they are at a disadvantage.

There is rampant racism in this country.

But of course you also have the redneck poor white trash types as well.

The problem is that white america will never understand the black man or the black culture. Multigenerational poverty, illiteracy (and by that I mean what white people consider illiteracy), fatherless families and the like have weakend the blacks to such an extent that it's easy for white people to blame alot of societies ills on the black person. (they cause a disproportionate amount of crime for their numbers )

Malcom X could have done alot of good for the blacks in this country. In his time, blacks were more educated and more organized and that scared the government. Malcom X made his biggest mistake leaving the country and studying alternative ideologies. I had more respect for Malcom X than martin luther king who was more of a communist.

Our CIA flooded the black communities with drugs and in general tried to destroy nuclear families. Whites were more geared to handle this destructive influence because of multigenerational advantage but the blacks were destroyed rather easily by this infuence and have not recovered.

If we had truely pushed for separate but equal schooling.....it might not have been politically correct....but it would have made education more equitable and destroyed the notion of "affirmative action"

By and large now the blacks can't rise above because many are living in poverty. Unions have all but been destroyed and a poor group has a hard time raising their standard of living if they can barely keep their jobs much less than getting adequate cost of living salaries. Now whites are suffering this too under Bush-a-nomics.

Yes, there are areas of the country where a black person might not get served in a restaurant. There are many areas of many cities where a white person will be MURDERED for being white.
