I asked the living God Jesus Christ about this the other day and I believe it to be 100% demonic. Only from the mind of Satan. It is therefore a form of mediumahip, no different than someone with a crystal ball, giving way for demons to channel through.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 51846471

You didnt say if Jesus answered you. I also asked Him and He did answer me. I asked if it was evil, like witchcraft. He said it is NOT. Apparently it can also be used for other things, to locate things other than water. I believe it is a natural phenomenon and apparently quite accurate and useful. Don't throw the baby out with the bathwater.
 Quoting: Midnight Oil

He did answer me by telling me what I settled on believing, and then he confirmed it. I didn't want to decide what the truth is for myself that's why I asked, and then soon after you see my next post telling what Jesus showed me, how it is a mockery of Jesus' miracle in the wilderness causing water to come out of the rock. Jesus Christ IS the ROCK of salvation, and water and blood did pour out of him for everyone's sins that we all may be reconciled with the Father in Jesus.

This is a true fact. Nothing to do with Jesus, unless you consider it is the wonderful way God made us, being electrical in nature.

Some people cannot do dowsing, by the way. Their electrical system is different.

Re: Water Dowsing
Dowsing is not evil......

Some people are sensitive to earth energies and can feel the water, say, anyway.

The rods or stick or whatever just reveal answers that are easy to see....

Of course the talent could be used for evil just as practically anything else can be.

That is the choice of every individual soul ....aka free will....

When electricity was first discovered people thought that was evil.....not that I was alive then ,joke, but Ibonce saw a play or documentary about it .....

With finding water ,a downer told me ,you have to find a spot where there are several flows or more at different depths so the water doesn’t run out in summer.

You can do this by asking questions once you have located a suitable place.

It is wise to keep the well a good distance from drains and get the water tested to check it is safe....

We had a well put in a few years ago and the company who did this had a downer to find out where.

The first dowsers here were brought over from Germany in Richard 1 time to find minerals to mine.......

This means the medeavil church must have thought it was ok too......

Not everything that you can’t see is bad and as I said it is not the skill or object that is bad but if it is used to do bad things it is that person who is bad .......they are responsible.......just as knives are useful as we all know but in the wrong hands that can be lethal ...yet surgeons use them to save lives.......

There are many videos on YouTube that should help get you started. For me, it's very important that I keep my mind focused on what I'm looking for, otherwise the rods seem to default to finding water.

Re: Water Dowsing
Many years ago when I was in the third grade picked a Y shaped stick and walked around the park across the street from our apartment building until the stick pointed down on its own it scared me senseless.

This were back in the days when even a public education touched on many topics and although had no clue as to the proper use the dowsing stick it did indeed forcibly point down.

Years later found out that Tibbetts Brook ran underground in the area and probably a tributary water source flowing eventually to the Hudson River.

If you read the government website pertaining to water dowsing they bring up the point that water in many areas is abundant underground and dowsing is no big deal however, this third grader pinpointed an underground brook.

Hope to have some fun with this on our small ranch in Wyoming before the well diggers arrive to dig our well.

This is a really interesting subject to me. In the upper Midwest where I've lived for a number of years in the past; the water table is occasionally 15 or 20 feet below the surface.

I now reside in the Arizona Mountains and to drill a well here, is a major event. 500 feet to 700 feet.

I wonder if the sensitivity of the dousing stick is affected by the depth of the water below the surface?

I'm wondering if a skilled douser could help me identify where to drill a well? This is a large piece of property. If one location is better than another, that would be good to know.

peace
 Quoting: Reggie Bannister

A skilled dowser can ask the rods anything and get a response. Telling you the depth of the water and the flow should be no problem.

nope.

I knew an old woman that worked for the U.S. govt dowsing wells in remote areas. She was incredibly accurate. never missed one. She dowsed at least a 100 wells for private people and govt.

just don't try to make money dowsing except to get paid for water wells.

Alot of people dowse for gold etc. They NEVER find it. There is some universal law against it? I've known alot of dowsers. Even that old lady couldn't make any money on dowsing for precious metals/treasures. She could tell you where a vein ran, but not a vein that held enough gold to make much money.

frustrated the hell out of her.

Re: Water Dowsing
We had a pipe leaking in our yard a few years ago. My husband made a set of dowsing rods with coat hangers. I was very, very skeptical, but went outside with him to watch. He knew approximately where the water line ran, but the leak could've been anywhere along the pipe ... approximately 50'. He walked around a minute or two, and the rods crossed. He backed up, and the rods straightened. He moved forward again, and they crossed.

I was thinking "Yeah, right. He made the rods move, and he's just messing with me."

He got a shovel and dug a hole. Just one hole, straight down. The ground started out dry, but got wetter and wetter the deeper he dug.

Suddenly there was the spewing pipe, exactly where the dowsing rods had crossed.

I never would've believed it if I hadn't seen it for myself. I'd always thought it was just a myth, but it seems that there's something to it after all.

I'm still baffled as to how the rods picked up the leak itself, and not the whole water line. Fascinating stuff!

It is very real. I have been doing it for over 40 years.
Located many a well, sewer lines, water pipes, utilities.
Always amazing, even to me. I have taught many, many.

I think anyone can do it, if willing. I have however,
had a few that could only do it if I held one side of the
stick and put my hand on their shoulder or was touching them.
I think they weren't doing the tension quite right.

Just about anything works. Wires, forked stick, broom...
Some more sensitive and selective. Have fun with it.

I worked on a huge ruined country house site for English Heritage. We wanted to send cameras down the drains and culverts under the cobbled and paved stableyards.

Guy from the inspection company turns up, looks breifly at the maps showing where we think the culverts are, and then proceeds to use dowsing to find them for himself.

Not only that, he told us..."You got that wrong, its further this way" etc, etc. Amazingly, he then showed us where there were new drains and culverts that were not even on the drawings. Turned out he was 100% right.

Easy task for many; not satanic as some would have us believe.

We're made of 100% energy with zero matter and nothing but sound vibration holding us together. Detecting other energy (eg flowing water) isn't a stretch.

Years ago had studied dowsing and chi energy. Was out hiking one day without any water and was getting very thirsty, when i came to the top of a big hill. Decided to try an experiment. Held out fingers of right hand horizontlly (sending energy) with my eyesight aligned with where my hand was pointing (called the "eye-beam"). Held up left hand vertically like a radar dish (receiving emergy).

Scanned the area below me slowly, until i felt a twitch in my left hand. Went down the hill to where my fingers (and eyes) had been pointing. Found a small spring of grest-tasting water bubbling out of the ground at that very spot.

There was no stream from the spring to indicate it was there. True story.

Its not a gift. Anyone can do it. Reiki, healing energy, making your hands radiate intense heat is a walk in the park.

You're experiencing mild emphatic abilities. Imagine if you feel it from others all around you, and it happens to be a negative aggressive day. It'll eat you up unless you learn how to pull the blinds down in your mind.

We are in the same predicament we purchased land in Wyoming initially looked at land in Crook County however there were so many uranium mines in the area an the ground water was naturally contaminated. This meant we would have to use cisterns and have water trucked to the location and this was unacceptable to us.

We chose another county that is far more rural but good water is in the area this triggered the memory of dowsing as a child and I do wish to try making my own dowsing rods again.

You can dowse for anything. Just keep thinking about the target. You can also use just about anything... I've used wire coat hangers and wooden sticks.

A fun thing to do is use some silver as a target. It can be a ring or an old coin. Drop it out in your yard and use your dowsing tools to "find " it. It's a great way to make believers out of folks who don't think it works. When those rods move in their hands, they are shocked.
 Quoting: OldWhiteGuy

Without a doubt skills are less than a novice, if I tossed a ring or coin outdoors would probably have to resort to using my metal detector thus will wait until my skill level advances with practice.
