My Great, Great, Great Grandfather was a skilled craftsman, and traded 10 times his annual salary for this Tulip bulb...

Jealousy is not a good color on you crypto-deniers. It's not too late! Buy a fraction of a bitcoin and watch it grow!

I bet you were one of the hold-outs during the early days of the internet. "It's just a fad," you said. "This email thing will never work. I'll continue to send snail mail through the Pony Express until the day I die!"

Hahaha

All the bitcoiners are gonna get whacked.
We all know its a bubble.
It more than fits the definition in every way.
But the rubes keep defending it.
Soon they'll be riding it all the way down to double digits.
At that point i will openly laugh at you.

The smart money that missed out can see it for what it is and isn't getting anywhere near crypto currencies at this point

Hey Slick,

I purchased in 2013. I'm playing with house money. If it goes down, it goes down. I didn't buy it to get rich. I bought because I believe in Bitcoin changing the world! Keep worshipping your fiat you slave! I'll be laughing all the way to the bank (oh wait with BTC, I am the bank)!

Your great, great, great Grandfather was a moron. The tulip contracts were all futures -- pretty much no-one actually took delivery. And when the prices collapsed he could have got out of his contract with a 3% penalty (legal in those days), which might have stung, but wouldn't have ruined him.

If he didn't take delivery it would have been a decent bet -- speculate on the futures of an asset seen to be increasing in value, but with only a 3% hit if you were wrong. A sort of win-win.

Of course, to repeat that with full exposure to a risky, untested, asset that could collapse to nothing would surely be folly.

Re: I have a Tulip bulb from 1637 that I would like to trade for a Bitcoin??
For latecomers to Bitcoin the best option is to cloud mine. All you have to invest is a few hundred to buy enough hashrate to mine Bitcoin and within a month you'll make your money back and will start seeing profit.

You won't get super rich like the early investors but you'll make enough to be happy with the results.

While the sentimental value of your Italian Florin gold coin may be priceless...

In reality that coin is worth $140 fiats.

BTC just hit $8700 fiats and it's not heavy. I can send it across the globe to purchase a good or service for minimal fees in seconds (sometimes minutes). Sure it's not perfect yet, but it's close!

No rebuttal? When you checked the BTC price this am, did you spit your coffee out? It's currently at $9300 per coin. How much did that "Italian Florin gold coin" increase in price overnight?
