Multiply by length... If I were playing with paper and pencil or my NSpire/TI-89 I'd convert to metric to make the conversion to weight easier. I do a lot of math too. Yeah, I though I was clear enough, 6” pipe meant a 6” diameter pipe. Most of my math is at work, and is in the .001/inch range. I’m a machinist, and for me .001 is a lot... *INTJ* If life is so short, why do we do so many things we don’t like and like so many things we don’t do? Who keeps leaving egg related karma?? Why? |

The most common range of pipe is Sch 5 to Sch 80, 6" Sch 5 pipe is 6.407 ID, 6" Sch 80 pipe is 5.761 ID. 6" Sch 5 Pipe, 30' long would hold 417 lbs of water 6" Sch 80 Pipe, 30' long would hold 337 lbs of water Almost 100 lbs difference ;) Just messin' with ya' OP! I assume you have no man-bun and no hipster non-prescription glasses.... Sch 80 is good stuff, so good I don’t see why they even make anything else. Anyways.... I was specific though, I said “ 6” round on the inside”. Good catch though, man. *INTJ* If life is so short, why do we do so many things we don’t like and like so many things we don’t do? Anonymous Coward User ID: 64985415 United States 11/25/2017 10:58 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Cubic inches in US gallon = 231 Quoting: Mr. Poopy Butthole Find volume of pipe.... Radius X Radius X Pi = 28.26 square inches Length of pipe into inches = 360 Inches Volume of pipe = 10,173.6 cubic inches Pipe volume / gallon volume = 44.04 gallons Gallon of water weight = 8.34 pounds Total weight of volume of water = 367.30lbs. The answer at work was 350lbs. Fail. You didnt include the weight of the pipe. |
