In Colorado IDs are checked, but not recorded for recreational purchases. IDK about other states. Medical MJ patients in Colorado have been letting their cards expire to pay recreational prices since 2013 or so in order to not be on any kind of registry - the Colorado Department of Health and Environment issues the cards. That registry is supposed to be confidential, but I'm sure any law enforcement type who wanted it could get ahold of it, and enforce the ban on cannabis users having guns. So far, to the best of my knowledge it has not yet occurred, though. Again, IDK about other states. |

Quoting: Black Knight Why did you decide to use the term 'potheads' in the thread title? Because I differentiate between those who choose to use marijuana for sport and those that use it all of the time. IMHO, those who use it daily are the ones that have to be careful or be caught. Those who choose to imbibe in substances of any kind when they feel like it and do not when they choose are not the ones that will be suffering at all from this turn of events. Like caffeine, nicotine, alcohol, sex? I'm so glad you are the moral arbiter of responsibility for everyone. Oh yeah, does that " daily use" include patients prescribed Marinol? Just want to know how I should feel about these oncological, epileptic, chronic pain patients I dispense this drug too. How about fuck that law, and just make people responsible for their action? My experience has shown me that reality doesn't exist anyway, it's a collective agreement, and I don't agree. oh wait, that's mental illness...not being functional in a totally fucked up and evil world. Didn't mean to pick on this poster, though. You are right about moderation in all things. |

The government is back-dooring the 2nd Amendment utilizing "evil weed" as the key. Quoting: Black Knight Last June I was made aware and then announced to our Township Committee that from what I had been told, marijuana was going to be legalized by June of 2018 after Governor Murphy was inaugurated here in New Jersey (a sure thing I was also told). When I mentioned this to my Son-In-Law, a SWAT Team cop in an urban PD, I was told that his PD had already been briefed that it would be done in early January 2018, not June. At our first Committee meeting in November, my Mayor held up the Pot Legalization bill that he was able to get a copy of in Trenton that very morning that had already passed the legislature. It was held back until the new governor takes office because Chris Christie would surely veto it. Now jump up and down for joy all you want for this momentous event, but there will be a stiff price to pay let me assure you. [link to www.rawstory.com (secure)] I have done some Internet searches and I am finding that there is much fervor in the efforts to disarm those individuals that are ok'd to use medical Mary Jane. What the future will hold for these poor souls that are caught up in this mess right now is yet to be determined, but I am sure it is costing them a ton of cash and making a shitload of lawyers a ton of income. If those in the medical weed area are suffering so, how easy will it be for TPTB to utilize the same tactic to disarm the pot heads that are simply buying weed at the local weed store "legally". remember, unless the Federal government decriminalizes it, pot will still be "technically" illegal. Do what you will, choose what you will choose to do, but be aware that the spotlight of LAW may very well screw up your day once you can be proved to be a pot user through your purchase records. If the world used weed, we would need NO GUNS...... That is the fear of TPTB, a peaceful world, we will have it, they are finished. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 75502460 I am not familiar with legal mj purchases of any kind, med/rec. Here in Oregon, many dispensaries are simply checking birthdates, and not storing data. I did use one, though, that actually scanned my DL. I don't smoke weed, but I've stopped off at 'the weed store' for my wife on several occasions. I'm in Las Vegas and I have been buying pot legally here since July. It is actually a fucking blast. I have smoked weed on and off for 40 years. Since July I have visited 6 pot shops and sampled a wide variety of Indica and Sativa strains. I'm a solitary toker, and I don't buy much. I smoke 1 or 2 hits in the evening, so 1 gram lasts me about 2 weeks. It's fantastic having access to really good pot. And not having to worry about the police is pretty damn sweet. |
