Quoting: Black Knight Because I differentiate between those who choose to use marijuana for sport and those that use it all of the time. IMHO, those who use it daily are the ones that have to be careful or be caught. Those who choose to imbibe in substances of any kind when they feel like it and do not when they choose are not the ones that will be suffering at all from this turn of events. Like caffeine, nicotine, alcohol, sex? I'm so glad you are the moral arbiter of responsibility for everyone. Oh yeah, does that " daily use" include patients prescribed Marinol? Just want to know how I should feel about these oncological, epileptic, chronic pain patients I dispense this drug too. How about fuck that law, and just make people responsible for their action? SHEEEESH I never claimed a moral high ground here, I am just warning of a backdoor effort to circumvent the 2ndAmmendment. So glad you responded, I guess I didn't understand your intent. In all fairness, your use of the term pothead kinda helped that a bit. I am Uber in sync with you about the backdoor to gun confiscation, and agree with you. I am just so damn fed up with "FEDS", current administration excluded. I know MJ has medical benefits, as I work with these patients. The FEDs do too, they have had 14 on a federal register since the 70's studying it, growing it at the U of Mississippi, and dispensing it to them. But he War on Drugs(cough) sure does bring a shitpot full of revenue, disposable assets, and cheap duck ng labor to the Police State. Talk about being addicted to something.... RESPECT BK PEACE Time to send the corrupt politicians and kosher big pharma ceos to the gas chamber. |

Quoting: Sikhed I didn't see anything new on the federal form you're required to fill out. (form #4473) On it, it asks if you're an illegal user of drugs (including marijuana) Since pot is legal here in Oregon, the Oregon residences would not be illegal users. ^^^THIS^^^ Agree, I'm also in Oregon. . Don't see how they can legally obtain your medical marijuana status. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 55611245 And HIPPA (patient privacy laws) is a federally mandated law. Also, the Feds are supposed to keep firearm purchases on record for only 5 years. Then destroyed. That law is in their own books also. Well if not, get ready, or at least be careful. The government is back-dooring the 2nd Amendment utilizing "evil weed" as the key. Quoting: Black Knight Last June I was made aware and then announced to our Township Committee that from what I had been told, marijuana was going to be legalized by June of 2018 after Governor Murphy was inaugurated here in New Jersey (a sure thing I was also told). When I mentioned this to my Son-In-Law, a SWAT Team cop in an urban PD, I was told that his PD had already been briefed that it would be done in early January 2018, not June. At our first Committee meeting in November, my Mayor held up the Pot Legalization bill that he was able to get a copy of in Trenton that very morning that had already passed the legislature. It was held back until the new governor takes office because Chris Christie would surely veto it. Now jump up and down for joy all you want for this momentous event, but there will be a stiff price to pay let me assure you. [link to www.rawstory.com (secure)] I have done some Internet searches and I am finding that there is much fervor in the efforts to disarm those individuals that are ok'd to use medical Mary Jane. What the future will hold for these poor souls that are caught up in this mess right now is yet to be determined, but I am sure it is costing them a ton of cash and making a shitload of lawyers a ton of income. If those in the medical weed area are suffering so, how easy will it be for TPTB to utilize the same tactic to disarm the pot heads that are simply buying weed at the local weed store "legally". remember, unless the Federal government decriminalizes it, pot will still be "technically" illegal. Do what you will, choose what you will choose to do, but be aware that the spotlight of LAW may very well screw up your day once you can be proved to be a pot user through your purchase records. This is true. Even if you don't want to own a gun and never wanted to own a gun and never will own a gun, like me, there are other ways it can back fire. That's kind of like telling all the so called "dreamers" to surface so they could have a good list of illegals. I lived in Cali and was legal there, but it still made me paranoid to be on that list. They might even call it some kind of treason some day, the breaking of Federal Laws. Who knows? You sound scared. Who cares what they do? The worlds a piece of shit anyways. |

Those of us that do not trust these sellouts believe that they will utilize the consequences to achieve other agendas, such as disarmament. You know what? User ID: 75944809 United States 12/05/2017 12:04 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I find it very amusing that those who preach and nag about MMJ or MJ for that matter, spout every spurious fact they can dream up... But in reality, under current Federal Laws, it's illegal to do research on it much less procure it for research... So if the research itself is illegal, how could you research it in the first-place... But all those nay sayers seem to know EVERY FACT there is about it... When they have ABSOLUTELY NO evidence scientifically or otherwise to back anything up... Oh but go ahead and reference the film: "Reefer Madness." And that is laughable... SO, with that said, WHAT THE HECK ARE YOU SMOKING??? |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 73008487 United States 12/05/2017 12:12 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | There are many problems that this legalization issue has raised and only time will tell how it all plays out. it will certainly not eliminate the Black Market availability of the substance, for taxed weed must surely be more expensive than BM weed. How Law Enforcement can determine the difference between legal and illegal weed is another problem. While I have never had any moral issues with smoking pot, I find myself not being able to answer the question of whether legalizing it will create a more motivated group of individuals to get out there and get the job done and get more involved in their communities or not. We are finding that medical marijuana smokers tend to have pot smoking children (my daughter has two in her 8th grade class) and I have never felt that getting high and learning go hand in hand too well if you know what I am saying. It is certainly going to get a lot more complicated, that is for sure. Quoting: Black Knight There is very little black market for weed here, I’m in a recreational state. I moved here from a non-recreational state about 2 years ago... Let me tell you, you won’t ever buy weed from a drug dealer again after buying from a dispensary. The price is comparable as well.. best part is that you are buying weed that has been tested and weighed out legally...so even if it’s more money it’s worth the quality/correct weight/safety (no mold)/legal risk. Law enforcement can easily tell if weed is from a dispensary or a drug dealer...because the rules and regulations make the dispensaries label everything buy weight/time.date stamp. So it’s easy to tell the difference between a non labeled sandwich bag compared to a child safe container with a sticker labeling what’s inside. The tax itself here is 20% which is outrageous but the tax doesn’t exist if you are a medical patient or caregiver. The tax revenue in the past calendar year put 80 million back into the state, how about that? That’s something those potheads contributed to. I don’t understand why you are concerned about anyone’s motivation, you sound paranoid....a lot of potheads are lazy fucks but a lot of people who smoke weed, have good jobs, are creative, talented, rich, etc... The “we are finding” medical mj users tend to have pot smoking children is just a stupid thing to assume |
