Re: Best web browser?
ATM I'm using Vivaldi, it's slower than Slimjet but has less issues with video playback and the, FF57 locks up on the win7 VM and on the linux mint host, so Vivaldi is what I'm using now. Using the Midnight Lizard extension for web-wide night theme, it works pretty well, and Stylish for where there are better themes available. The Sidebar and new tab page are very similar to Opera's if you like that, which I do. It's not the greatest but as a chromium build it has it's advantages.

Mozilla Quietly Adds Features From Tor Browser to Firefox
[link to www.deepdotweb.com (secure)]

In October of this year it was discovered that Mozilla intends to implement yet another feature from Tor Browser in Firefox. This upcoming privacy feature however will not be included until version 58 of the browser is released in January. The new feature imported from Tor Browser blocks HTML5 canvas fingerprinting. With this type of fingerprinting a site uses the canvas HTML tag to get a user’s browser to create a unique hash which is used to track a user.
 Quoting: DEEPDOTWEB

A lot of websites rely heavily on canvas fingerprinting for tracking. As I don't have great faith in Mozilla, I am half-wondering if they'll end up dropping the feature before January under pressure from ad agencies. Will be interesting to see.

The main thing mentioned in the article though is a port of Tor Browser's Cross-Origin Identifier Unlinkability. In FF called First Party Isolation.

...access to the cache, cookies, DOM storage, and other identifying data are restricted to the domain from which they came from, thus preventing tracking across other websites.

Not slow internet. Ever since I installed the new version, it just freezes up and I cant even shut it down. I have to re-boot and Win7 takes forever to reboot.

As I understand it, you have a choice of the Chromium engine(Chrome, Brave, Slimjet), the Gecko engine(Firefox, Pale Moon, Waterfox), or Opera. I don't think there is another browser engine.

hi! I have a new idea for you, that you may want to try. have you tried Avast SafeZone browser? not many people know about it, but it happens to be its own browser which is separate from all the others that you mentioned. you may want to give it a try.

Opera

Fast, doesnt hangs, compatible, doesnt automatically download anything so you know if a website is trying to inject some nasty virus, has whatsapp integration, etc.
