How cults "against the machine" use "the machine" to support their cult. Lobotomies & Cuckoo Nests

Cults that claim they are against the machine (status quo), sometimes use the status quo to support their cult.

That's one good way to know if a group is part of "cult thinking".

In other words, using the video below from a cut scene from One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, McMurphy (the newcomer into the looney bin), is being put in place by the "head/president" of all the crazies there.

"The machine", in this case, is the "looney bin". The looney bin's practice is to shut up and quiet those who speak out against its ridiculous "boxed thinking" methods. If you don't agree with the "the machine", guess what: Lobotomy.

When McMurphy questions how the regulars (cult members) there just bendover for the machine, the cult uses the same exact threat as the looney bin uses: Lobotomy.
