Made by Briggs and Stratton, called 5 in 1. 1 bottle treats 80 gallons. For all 2 and 4 cycle engines. Says it is ideal for lawnmowers, generators, automobiles, boats, motorcycles, recreational vehicles, snowmobiles etc..

Just thought I would pass this on. A 16 ounce bottle costs $12.95.

PRI D was used in the military to keep / restore something like 80 year old diesel.

PRI G = Gas
PRI D = Diesel

EPA supposedly wants to knock them out of business or just make them stop making the product.

I am going on 15+ year old recollections.
I know it made amazing claims.
I never tried it to restore gas, only preserve it, but it is HUGE in the prepper community now.

I used to use "D" in diesel tanks in a marina.
It stopped the bacterial growth too.

Damn. I just looked up the price now!

HOLY COW did it get up there.
I used to get five gallon pails for ~$70
Now on amazon, it is ~$100 for ONE gallon.

That was part of why I stopped using it.
In the late 90's life was good. Then 9/11 changed that.
Started adjusting how much fuel to have on hand so we got fresh fuels but prices changed more as a result of having less fuel, and more deliveries. Plus, keeping through the Winter...

16 ounces treats 256 gallons for both the gas and diesel additive. The gas one costs 27.99 and the diesel costs 24.99, both on Amazon.

We use something for the small engines that also keeps it lasting for up to 3 years. One complaint, the lawnmower runs a little rougher after two years.

I burned 8 year old gas in a F-series, no issues. Preserved with several dosings of Pri-G over the years.

About 10% evaporated away in a 55 gallon drum.

Fuel injected cars are a lot more tolerant of shit gas than small engines. There was a ~2000 pontiac out behind my shop that hadn't ran in 5 years and the gas was probably even older, only had a quarter tank in it.

I jump started it and it fired right up... well, it cranked 10 times longer than normal but then after coughing for a couple minutes it ran like a champ.

I buy ethanol free recreation ("rec) gas for all my small engine needs THEN I add stabil. This works for me.

Oxidation of ethanol leads to reactive compounds that form a sticky film on engine parts, particularly the float in carburetors and screws them up. You can find rec-fuel with this web page: [link to www.pure-gas.org (secure)]

If gas is in a sealed container it will go 3 years without anything. If air can get in (and out) you'll have trouble.

I stopped using Stabil or SeaFoam, I just bought fuel jugs that are airtight and I haven't had any problems since.

And some of my gas sits for a year at a time, I usually keep three 5 gallon jugs but just work out of one, when they get a year old I'll rotate through the others.

My two stoke jug usually sits all winter, works fine with no additive.

People make too big a deal out of the whole ethanol thing, I'm pretty sure they've re-formulated gas since ethanol was first introduced to have better long term stability.

You can burn 1/3 diesel and 2/3 gasoline in gas engines. Some claim an increase in MPG.

In a TEOTWAWKI situation, you can mix 1/4 gas to 3/4 engine oil as a diesel substitute. Filter well before use, first with a funnel and paper, then a real fuel filter.

Imagine a massive jam of cars left after trying to flee the cities. They've been there for years.

Puncture the gas tank at the lowest spot and get a couple of quarts of gas. Drain the engine and tranny.

Each dead car could get you a couple of gallons of diesel, enough for 40 miles of driving.

I'll have to get some of that! 3 years, and treats more gallons than Stabil or Sea Foam. WOW!
Hope for the best, but prepare for the worst.

Marine Sta-bil (blu) keeps my eight 5GL jugs for 2 years. I rotate new gas in with blue Sta-bil, running the 2 year old gas in my commuter car with zero effects.

I tried it. It was less than perfect. It's hard to say if it did any good, but it certainly did not restore anything. The 2 year old gas was still 2 year old gas. The car barely ran, and it smelled like varnish. I still had to flush the fuel system and fill with fresh gas. I added the diesel to my motorhome that has been sitting 2 or 3 years, but have not fired it up, yet. Hopefully it will show better results than the gas additive did.

I've had sta-bil work for 2 years over & over again...but then I use up all the gasoline.

So I have no idea if it would have worked for 3 years or not.

Funny... Remote MODERN villages all over the globe have it delivered by the drum.

I am in the second year of a test with some of these additives.
All were the same batch of E10 gasoline with proper proportions of additives in each sealed in Mason jars in my shed. No heating or cooling, so it is exposed.
