They have ruined this show by injecting the PC crap into the story line.

Fuck squirrels. Fuck the undead. Fuck never running out of ammo. Fuck gasoline that's still good after sitting for 3 years. Fuck Hillary. Fuck Plus. Fuck Mueller. Fuck Comey. Fuck obama. Fuck Dramacrats, Marxists, Socialist and Communists. Fuck you. Fuck me. Fuck him. Fuck her. Fuck your mother, your father, your sister and your brother. Fuck Ricky, Julian and Bubbles. Apart from the first season, the plot is always:

1) The group recovers from a battle with the previous Bad Guy.
2) They think they're doing sort of OK and plan for the future.
3) They run into another group.
4) It doesn't matter if the group is hostile or not, they always end up fighting it.
5) Zombies are just a mechanism to create mayhem (you're right about this).
6) At the end of the season, they either win (at a great cost) or end up defeated/captured.
7) Repeat and rinse.

It grew sort of boring after season 3. I didn't bother watching every episode of seasons 4-7.

Stragely, I've found the latest season more interesting than the previous few. Negan's such a powerful character and even though he comes across as the bad guy, you can't really see any fudamental difference between the Saviours and many people in Rick's group (Daryl and Tara, in particular). The differences are superficial and the moral ambivalence always intrigues me in fiction.
