5 It was okay, but what I'm looking for from Star Wars this didn't deliver
4 I feel a little cheated througout the film
3 They took a crap over EVERYTHING TFA began
 2 Jar-Jar Binks might've improved this film
1 This is not my Star Wars
0 I'm so butthurt at this film that I can't admit it illicted one moment of enjoyment

SPOILERS

Go away if you don't want them.

-----------------------------------

I will open by simply saying that I quite liked it, much, much better than "The Force Awakens" while not as perfect as "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story"

Off-the-cuff Rankings, then:

1. The Empire Strikes Back
2. Rogue One
3. The Last Jedi
4. Revenge of the Sith
5. A New Hope
6. Return of the Jedi
7. The Force Awakens
8. The Phantom Menace
9. Attack of the Clones

Let's try to keep this tight:

Give us one thing you hated and one thing you loved.

I LOVED the Rey's Parents resolution, though I don't think this is the real truth.

I HATED portions of the Casino chunk, though I did marvel and appreciate at the freshness of the attempt, elements like Space Horses crashing through plate glass veered into the land of the ridiculous.

I like how they kept the canon of Dark side users being basically impossible to kill unless you surprise them. The same way Darth Maul and Sidious died (Maul didnt expect Obi-wans attack and Sidious didn't expect to be betrayed)

I also really loved the scene with Yoda destroying everything after Luke struggles with indecision. People all over are becoming more powerful Force Sensitives with no training so the new beginnings are vital.

BEYOND THAT, wow... So many turns and unlikely circumstances that made it hard to follow.. and I was REALLY focusing.

Certainly a LOT of stuff happened. Yoda was great, a very welcomed surprise.

I am stoked how they got rid of Snoke already, I thought he was a ridiculously cliché and boring villain. Who is he? Where'd he come from? DONT CARE! Good riddance. The story is Kylo Ren.

That said, I did think that Snoke got much more interesting before they offed him. Bigger payoff.

They should've explained more on the backstory of Snoke. All that hype just to be killed off without even putting up a fight.

Just because Kylo Ren told her her parents are nobody, that doesn't make it true.

Did you really care that Snoke died? He was lame, and like Kylo tells Rey...."got no place in this."

I think the problem is you've decided that Star Wars belongs to you, and therefore it should conform to your expectations and show you exactly what you want to happen.

Personally I like the way this movie added to the Force. The Force is only limited by what you ask of it to do. Luke learns this in the EU.

Empire was an extended Car Chase.

Re: ...In which we argue about "Star Wars: The Last Jedi" ---***Spoilers***---
So it turns out Holdo destroys a Mega-class Star Destroyer simply by ramming it at light speed.

This seems like a simple way to attack other vessels. There seems little point in Dameron's near-suicide mission against the Dreadnought at the start, frankly, when they could have just sacrificed an old freighter against it. And, presumably, they could have used this technique to inflict heavy damage against the Death Star in IV and perhaps incapacitate the Starkiller base in VII.

The sudden realisation of Hux and the others with him on the bridge suggests that this method of attack is understood to be effective, so the fact that is hasn't been used before seems very strange.

Alternatively, it is possible that Holdo invents an entirely new attack mechanism that, despite being obvious, hasn't been used before. Great discoveries like this, once discovered can't be undiscovered. So, expect the entire fleets on both sides to be decimated in the days following the end of VIII and to thus only see small, hard to hit at light-speed ships in IX.

I could not stand the social programming of this movie. The rebels looked like the UN globalist. They were all women and people of color and aliens. The only white guy was Luke skywalker who they make look like a crazy old fool. And they kill him at the end. The bad guys are all straight white men. Damn rebel scum.

You're a fucking millennial, aren't you?...damned

and what about......NO BIG PLOT DEVICE in the LONGEST SW movie ever?

....no death star or gigantic base....no big bad guy to defeat?.....Just one LOOONG slow chase through space.

OK....bad guys have lots of fuel.....rebels are JUST out of firepower reach........

....Then MICROJUMP a half kilometer and one fucking barrage takes them out!.....send half your ships to jump ahead and then jump back and smash them in a pincer move?

...then there just HAPPENS to be a planet with an abandoned rebel bunker on the surface next to where they randomly came out of hyperspace.

And WTF with Lara Dern's purple haired character? Withholding the plan to escape from her allies just as a 'surprise'?..WTF....if she had just relayed her plan to ANY of her subordinates it would have negated the ENTIRE plotline of Finn and TokyoRose having to go off in search of the 'gambler'......30 minutes that have been cut from this trainwreck.

Why was the 'suicide run' such an OMG moment and destroyed so much crap? why didn't they sacrifice a random freighter and do that sooner? Why didn't they give that herioc sendoff to Leia instead of apparently just going to mwntion her in the next credit crawl as a footnote, 'Oh yeah, she died'..

...I also heard that this movie would have the proper sendoff for Han...show the funeral and all that....NOPE!

ANY long loved character?....just Hi, see me in the background? maybe I get one line of dialogue or a couple BEEP BEEPs but that's it.

This movie was like watching a SJW/PETA fronted movie propaganda piece.

...I've actually read one pre-release review comparing this film to 'The Godfather'...O...M...F...G.

ONLY if 'Godfather 2' had had Pacino in drag with a rainbow dildo up his ass running around saving mistreated animals for 2 hours.

IMDB had this turd rated at an 8+.......no WAY in hell those aren't artificial inflated stats.....click on the reviews. I read through about the first 200 or so and didn't read ONE positive one, people are saying they left the theater after 30 minutes, started crying it was so bad and thanking Disney for ruining their childhood...lol

Saw it today with my brother, he fell asleep several times during the movie and eventually left after the first hour. Really SW movies don't need to be good, people will just show up because they enjoyed the original first two. This pile will make a couple billion, the next one will make a couple billion, and so on until the whole franchise has been milked dry

It's actually a bit shocking to see the anger leveled at this movie.

It really wasn't that bad. It had some issues like the trip to the casino, that was bad, but the rest of it was fairly decent.

Some of the "New" force abilities shown are actually quite well known already to those of us who have read the books.

The new movies are in many ways showing where the expanded universe went in many books.

I gave it a 9. Would have been a 10, but I didn’t really like the way they handled Snoke. They shouldn’t have killed him off that early. Don’t get me wrong, the way they did it though was nice! (I’m a Kylo Ren fan, so that scene was amazing for me) For me, this is tied with ESB for number 2. Rogue One still remains my favorite Star Wars film. Hopefully, episode 9 fixes that Snoke problem and brings in the Knighs of Ren!

They are blurring the lines between good and evil.

The original trillogy was a classic Good vs Evil, Black vs White scenario. The good people were good, the bad were bad.
Now - Kylo Ren - is he bad or is he good? He saved Rey, and killed Snoke, so he must be good. But he's a sith lord.

This is what they are doing with society today. They are turning 'good' to bad and things that were bad are now good. They are blurring the lines.

Not to mention all the other SJW agendas they are pushing.
It's crap but that's to be expected today.
