Bank Coins incoming

From the Globe&Mail today in Canadian news:

"...the Bank of Canada is working on a so called 'digital ledger' project with the Big Five Canadian banks and R3, a fintech consortium owned by roughly 50 of the world's largest banks.

"The experiment dubbed Project Jasper involves banks pledging cash collateral into a special pool, which the central bank would then convert to a digital currency, called CAD-coin."


Article says they are interested in the potential of blockchain tech & will use it, and dismissed bitcoin saying that "it allows criminals to launder money, move cash and evade taxes."
Uh, tons are already doing that with cash already. Banks don't pay taxes!

What's funny would be if no one from the crypto community was interested in, or bought their coin. Hopefully the older generations don't jump on board and get fleeced by the banksters.
