I can only assume the reason people might find this offensive is that they ( the street preachers ) are in a way threatening people with ideas of hell, being a sinner etc etc.

You know many people are under enormous stress in modern society and you can't blame them for wanting to be left alone and not told how horrible and hell bound they are.

If you want to help people, then cheer them up. Tell them how much they are loved, safe and protected, forever. That's real love.
