I wondered how much of that was a strategy by the left to strip away the right from Trump or any other clearly non-liberal candidate. Liberals are fully aware of the many conservatives who've traditionally - for over 70 years - been wary and disdainful of the former Soviet Union. So a tactic to put a layer of Russian slime on Trump may have been the big reason for the fake dossier.

People of the left, particularly in positions of power, are so deranged and dishonest, I bet any number of theories about them may be accurate.
