A possible mass shooting may have been averted in Houston, after an intoxicated man was arrested in a downtown Houston hotel with what is being described as a “small arsenal of guns.”

Authorities are especially concerned, as the man had the guns stockpiled on the top floor of Hyatt Regency in downtown Houston, which was hosting a large New Year’s Eve celebration.

The man was confronted by authorities in the hotel after his intoxicated state made him belligerent.
