Did the human race reach its intellectual peak between 1930s and 1980s and now we're in a downward spiral
"Technology may be getting smarter, but humans are getting dumber, scientists have warned.
...
Some have even contentiously said this could be because educated people are deciding to have fewer children, so that subsequent generations are largely made up of less intelligent people."

[link to www.dailymail.co.uk]

It's sad how the PC culture is trying to bury the evident reason for the decline, because it doesn't fit their "everyone's equal" doctrine. Of course, it is about smart and highly educated people choosing not to have kids.

I am a smart and highly educated person (PhD + professorship). I was also dead set against having children ever. I used to sugarcoat it by citing moral reasons ("the world's such a clusterfuck that it'd be immoral to have kids"), but my true reason was:

"I've spent two decades working 70 h weeks and sacrificed everything in my life - including my social life and health - to advance my career. There's no way in hell I am going to throw it all away by having kids."

Then I fell in love, got married and got shafted at work because I couldn't put in the hours like before. I was torn between my obligations at home and those at work, and conseqeuently I burned out and my priorities shifted. I downshifted at work and we had a child. I was 45, my wife was 37. At our age it was touch-and-go, but eventually my wife gave birth to a healthy child.

Anyway, the point of my little story is that most people like me will either choose not to have kids or they'll postpone it until it's way too late. Had I not burned out, my marriage would have ended up in a divorce, because that's how hell-bent I was on my career. While recovering from the burn-out, I had time to think about life and how there must be something else than work to it. The realization that I was destroying myself and causing grief to my wife who truly loved me really woke me up, but most people like me will never wake up.

It's chemical, something either added or missing from the average person's diet is leading to this decline.

Not really a peak, but more like systematically dumbed down.

Flouride, common core, dpt of education, and everything else placed in the way of people reaching their potential.

Look at the bigger picture.
We detonated 3 nuclear weapons.
Shortly there after we became obsessed with making our homes comfortable and self gratification.
Then we got rid of all the taboos about being egotistical.
The internet and social media now dominate all interaction.

If you think that all just happened and isn’t part of the grand design, you don’t have a clue what’s really going on.

Controlled peak through schools/universities/food/media.

They disturb the spread of knowledge just like 500 years ago when they seized / destroyed printing machines. Today they call it net neutrality.

Dumber in comparison to what?

In the dark ages, very few, save the clergy, could read at all.

Most American colonial small-farmers were illiterate, or nearly so.

Although illiterate, they knew how to survive and everyone had a trade, which requires a different sort of education and skill set.

Today's children know a lot of facts, but nearly all of it is useless in terms of day-to-day application. Moreover, there is by far more literate people on earth than any other time, but it is hardly put toward furthering understanding of anything meaningful.

If anything has been dumbed-down, it is the modern educational system.

I believe 1967 was our intellectual peak. That was the end of classical human education and culture. 1968 was the start of the decline of western society and we've been going downhill ever since. While technically we may be "richer" than in 1967, other than a few trinkets and gadgets we have today our lives are but a caricature of our former human eminence.

1967 is when libtardism began kicking in.

The war on the nuclear family. "free" love.

The welfare state expanded. This enabled low class people to multiply more than anything else.

EUGENICS was outlawed in the 1930's... still some persisted until the 1940's but the purpose of Eugenics was selective breeding to increase the population's intelligence and prime DNA.

Affirmative action destroyed it, as civil rights destroyed our cities.

Just what did obama do to deserve a nobel peace prize?

What did henry kissinger do to deserve a nobel peace prize?

There you have it.

In my certain point of view there was a fork in human race sometimes during the cold war, and the difference between the classes has become wider. Hence the artificialy supported low lifer population was growing faster than the elite, the avarage started to decline.

Here's a great quote from someone on GLP I've saved...

"I do believe that modern liberalism has stunted human evolution. The burden of nursemaiding the lesser races has been a yoke around the white man's neck for the past 50 - 100 years. Otherwise, white man would be well on his way colonizing other planets by now. We went from inventing the first airplane to landing on the moon in 65 years. Since then, we haven't done shit. Every effort, minute and spare penny is used for feeding, clothing, educating, healing, sheltering and defending people who haven't even figured out not to shit next to their drinking water yet."
