Why Couldn't Ireland or Scotland Become a US State?
If they were willing to buy into the Bill of Rights and Constitution, most of the States would be willing to vote them in.

They already speak English. Well, close enough.

There's more Irish in America than in the Irish Republic. Imagine the possibilities for Statehood...

Probably because they like their independence (at least Ireland). The UK might have an opinion of Scotland joining the US.

Anyway, we already have enough Irish in Boston and Scots in the South.

Perhaps we could trade California for Scotland.

Given a year or two of Trump's Winning, other populations just might want to join US.

First, the people of Ireland would have to want to become part of the Union and pass a referendum.

Secondly, a Constitution would have to drafted in line with the US Constitution.

Congress would have to vote 2/3 in favor with the President's signature.

We need another migration of Europeans, Bring on the Scots, the Swedes, the Germans, the Poles, etc etc etc - towns with old history of immigrants from these areas need to sponsor new blood. Come again. Enrich us, add to us.

Never will happen. The Irish Fae and Scottish Faeries will not allow it.
