How do you deal with people who dont pay their debts back to you?

Borrowed implies you intend to pay it back. You are given money in exchange for your gash. FAIL.

A friend of mine, who loans money, will simply take a persons car, or something else of high value until the debt is paid in full, and there ain't a lot you could do to stop him even if you pulled a gun on Jim you'd have to pull the trigger. Lending money to mates is a difficult one, even the odd 20 quid not paid back can rear serious issues down the road.

You know your comment really saddened me, so many people in this world are just shit.

Calm communication is key.

Go to his house knock on his door.

When he opens the door just simply state your case.

I see you've blocked me on facebook. I lent you money and you agreed to pay it back this month. I expect it back within the next 2 weeks.

If he tries to interrupt just be a broken record. "Ive not finished do not interrupt.". You just keep repeating this over and over ontop of everything he says until he finally stops talking. Then you continue with what youre saying. You dont answer any of his questions. You simply make the statement, and the deadline without a threat. You dont enter in any form of conversation you are delivering a message. Anything he says or suggests justs gets a repeat of the words "I expect it back within the next 2 weeks". Then just walk away.


Less is much more. It doesnt follow an expected pattern and does freak people out.

If he's not paid or contacted you for payment you return on the 14th day and ask to come in. You look around his house pick something of value and simply state - if youve not paid within the next 2 weeks I will come round and take XYZ as payment. Then simply walk out.

I will gladly pay you Tuesday for a hamburger today.....

Don't loan out anything you can't afford to give away. That way, if you don't get it back, at least you won't be financially strapped because of the loan.

So then, I've had relatives ask me how can you refuse the loan when you DO have the money in your account. They equate saying no to lying. I just tell them that even if you have the money, if that money has to go for bills or groceries, you STILL don't have any money to loan out.

If you do borrow money, keep a notebook! The ones that don't pay back will quit asking for loans when you take out your little notebook and explain to them how you can't borrow them any more until they pay back what they already owe. It's not necessary to actually end the friendship.

Gotta admit though that it does bother me to see friends out living it up, eating out, going to movies, etc., and not even offer to pay back even a little of what they owe. Just have to get over it I guess and chalk it up for experience.

I lent 50 bucks to a friend once and he refused to pay me back but he didn't know that I knew about his affair at work so I threatened him with that. Got my money the next day.

If they intend to pay you, the will give you colleterial.. if not.. they have shown their intent.

If they don't have collateral, just say

"When you come up with some COLLATERAL, let me know."

It is then their problem, and you never said NO.. You did not say Yes either..

It gets rid of all deadbeats... you don't need them.. even if it is family.

How much money do you think a member of the most powerful cartel possibly in the world (Sinaloa) is willing to do severe bodily damage over? Right now I'm 250 deep for a "loan" and it's been weeks. He's stopped texting me and possibly begun his hunt.. a finger? Busted ribs? My life? I assure you he is very serious.

The best way is to never lend money to anyone.

Either you give it to the person or you abstain.

He gave you a valuable lesson. Now it's up to you to not be such a gullible stupid fucker.

Oh yeah...I just thought of something. About 8-10 months after I gave him the $600, I noticed two puppies in his yard. I said, "Are those your dogs?"

He said, "Yeah. I got a bargain! Both for only $400!"

I didn't say a thing.

Then those dogs barked in the yard 12 hours a day for many years until someone reported them to the police a few times. Apparently the police gave this neighbor a warning because those dogs are not outside all day like they once were. It's been GREAT for the past year!

Last summer, after never saying anything to anyone, another neighbor invited me over for a cookout. He told me that he loaned this same neighbor $1000 over a year ago! He's reminded him several times, but never got a penny of it back. He was shocked to hear I gave him money, too.

This guy must ask so many people for money that he has no idea who he owes. lol

I feel sorry for his wife. She once told me she works two jobs.
