Article: Coming out as a Republican to my Democrat family

So deep is their hatred for us, the left's most unforgivable sin is for someone to break from their cognitive dissonance.

In the article, a man who came out to his family as gay in his 20s (which was celebrated) relates the hate he has experienced since he came out as Republican.




I remember listening to a well-respected psychologist and "friend" years ago. He was teaching a class on Biblical child raising and made a joke about how he would forgive his children anything "except coming out as a Republican." It was a joke that wasn't a joke.

On the plus side, once I realized that the church's leadership was filled to the brim with lefties, I ran. Fast. How can such fools give any spiritual advice?

Has anyone else experienced the same? How did you handle it?
