Earthquake in Pakistan on September 24 2019 01:55 PM (UTC).


A strong 5.8 magnitude tremor has hit the Pakistani capital Islamabad and other cities in the eastern Punjab province, leaving at least eight people dead and 100 injured, officials said. The earthquake was also felt in Lahore, Peshawar and Pakistan-administered Kashmir.

Footage of destruction in Mirpur, a city in Pakistan's Azad Kashmir region, showed chasms torn several feet deep into roads, with cars and buses overturned. Many people rushed out of multistory buildings and homes into the streets in case of further tremors. "Our whole concentration right now is to accelerate the rescue operation," ...

Volcano Eruption in Mexico on September 24 2019 03:25 AM (UTC).


Mexican volcano Popocatepetl started to erupt on Monday, releasing gases and ash, the civil defense service of the Puebla state said. "The Popocatepetl volcano has awakened and releases water steam, gases, and ash," the service said on its Twitter page.

The service registered over 10 tremors, seven explosions and 152 outbursts within the last 24 hours. The authorities called on people to refrain from entering the 12-kilometer area (more than 7 miles) around the volcano and climbing the mountain....

Flash Flood in United Kingdom on September 25 2019 03:30 AM (UTC).


Floods sparked travel chaos as a month's worth of rain lashed England in six hours and closed four major stations yesterday. Shocking photos show commuters wading through water after the remnants of Hurricane Humberto lashed the country. Thousands of passengers were delayed as London's Liverpool Street, Moorgate, St Pauls and Victoria stations were forced to close due to flooding.

Footage shows commuters wading through ankle-deep water and rain pouring through a roof. In Birmingham, Liverpool and Southampton drivers abandoned their cars and waded through water. The Circle, District, Hammersmith and City, Metropolitan and London Overground were all rocked by delays.

Ten flood warnings and 40 flood alerts were issued by The Environment Agency. And the Met Office has warned heavy rain is set to lash eastern England and the far west of the country today....

The most recent model guidance for #SoCal suggests San Bernardino, Riverside, Imperial, and San Diego Counties have the best chances for seeing rainfall today & tomorrow, although a few stray showers drifting into LA/OC Coastal areas can't be ruled out.

Last night on the weather, they said this storm could drop 18 to 36 inches!

I hear you. The highway between Sacramento and Reno is hell even when the weather is nice due to all the traffic and idiot drivers. When it's snowing it's an absolute nightmare.
People drive like absolute idiots on that highway

It can take a whole day or more to get from Sacramento to Reno when it's snowing due to all the traffic , people driving like idiots, and all the accidents that happen due to people driving like idiots, and no alternate routes. That is if the highway is even open. Many times it closes when it's snowing.

Seen many fatal accidents when I used to drive that highway.
Thank God I don't have to any more. Never want to have to ever again.

At least 20 people were killed and dozens injured Thursday in a strong earthquake that rocked Indonesia's remote Maluku islands, triggering landslides that buried at least one of the victims, the disaster agency said.

Terrified residents ran into the streets as buildings fell in around them when the 6.5-magnitude quake hit in the morning. "At least 100 people were injured and more than 2,000 evacuated," said national disaster mitigation spokesman Agus Wibowo who gave the latest death toll in a statement...

Dozens of people are feared dead after an illegal gold mine collapsed in Chad, officials have said. Defence Minister Mahamat Abali Salah told AFP news agency on Wednesday that the mine caved in early on Tuesday at Kouri Bougoudi, a zone beset by illegal mining near the Libyan border.
