It's a progression...... HWY 58 goes through the area where I am and the CHP will close it in a heart beat. CalTrans has gates at all of the entrances and the CHP stops the traffic on both sides of the mountain every time that it snows and freezes. Also with a foot or more of snow they don't even have enough equipment to keep the roads clear if this storm does what the prediction says. And that is the state highways. The local roads will be even worse because this area is very rural.  I definitely feel bad for anyone who will have to drive on the 80 between Sacramento and Reno in this. I used to have to drive the 80 between 80 and hated driving it even when the weather is nice. Driving it in the snow is an absolute nightmare straight out of hell. Not only due to the steep mountainous terrain but because there's always a lot of traffic and people drive like fucking idiots on the freeway. I have so many fatal accidents happen on the 80 between Sacramento and Reno, especially in the snow. Not only that but it can take virtually all day long to get from Sacramento to Reno when it's snowing due to the steep mountainous terrain, horrible traffic, accidents, and all the people acting like and driving like total idiots. Thank God I don't have to drive that anymore. Hopefully I never will again either.. |
