Significant cold air episodes ahead... looking better for PacNW snow and night/AM freezing temps here too by the middle of next week. (1/2)

Wearing shorts is the way to go but here in the SoCal mountains on my walk this morning it was freezing fog.
Long pants and a coat are a must.
On December 26 here it snowed for 30 hours. Very rare to have this happen here. The total snow fall was 17 inches with total chaos on the local roads and major closures on the interstate freeways. Also lots of tree limb destruction around town. The Oak tree in my front yard lost about 8 limbs one of them was about 8 inches in diameter. Major damage to the tree.

Slightly wetter model runs this afternoon. Pushing the snowfall forecast up to 2-5 inches from 1-4 this morning. It's already cold out so this will be a fluffy powder that falls after midnight into Thursday morning.

Beginning Saturday night, temperatures in Calgary may fail to rise above -20C for almost a WEEK.

The coldest temperatures relative to normal on the planet will by far be focused on Alberta and British Columbia next week.

...THERE IS A MODERATE RISK OF SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS FOR PARTS OF
NORTHEAST TEXAS...FAR SOUTHERN ARKANSAS...AND NORTHERN LOUISIANA...

...SUMMARY...
Severe thunderstorms are expected by midday Friday into early
Saturday morning from eastern Oklahoma and Texas into the lower
Mississippi Valley. Damaging wind gusts, tornadoes and isolated
large hail are all possible, especially across parts of eastern
Texas into Louisiana Friday afternoon into the overnight hours.

...OK/TX to the lower MS Valley...
A strong mid-level shortwave located over the southern
Rockies/northern Mexico Friday morning will move east into OK/TX by
early Saturday morning. In the low levels, a surface front
initially draped southwest-northeast across the TX Panhandle into
the mid MS Valley will accelerate southeastward late Friday as a low
located over the Red River Valley consolidates/develops east before
deepening as it moves into eastern AR by the end of the period. A
Pacific front will gradually move east across West TX during the day
before accelerating east after dark reaching the western Gulf/LA
late overnight.

Hey you fellow weather geeks.

I got a weather station for Christmas and it's uploading to the internet from my home town Port Richey, FL.

Seems accurate except for the wind speed because it's not above the tree line, but still pretty good. It's a Ambient Weather WS-2902A

Hell you can do that in Southern California.. Or go few miles and in feet of snow...

Then summer you can be in 110 heat, or in less than 20 mins 75 degrees..

Or could live where I used to.. Pismo beach and be in shorts all year long cool 68 degrees...

Americans instead of retreating, the best state in the union..

For weather, I wished 30 million people in the heartland would, come crash the party over, and change it back to its all its goly..

California is not a lost cause... Deport the 15 million here in this state, and replace with 30 mill. Of real America... We win..
May all have goodwill and blessings..
