It's -2 and blowing a NE wind. Snowing too! We did have some great weather for a week or so! Melted a lot of snow. Then, this front moved in 2 days ago and it's a cold one!

Long term, expect snow to move even further south. Expect to hear about snow in Costa Rica! Raymond Aguilera prophesied about this over 10 years ago. He said the seasons would change. Here on the ranch, we have had to move our alfalfa away from the mountains. It won't grow, and so the insects take over and you get squat! It's been too damn cold for over 20 years now!
Here is how Ray put it. Spring, will not be spring, Summer, will not be summer, Fall, will not be fall, and Winter, will not be winter!

Re: The Weather Thread
Not caught up since last night, but wanted to report that it was 57 when I went to work this morning. High around 1 or 2pm was 62. When I left for work at 4:30 it was 46, and by the time I got home 20 minutes later it had dropped to 35. I just popped out right now and it's bitter cold again. They just said on the news roads are freezing up now. I have a feeling in about an hour and going forward, I'm gonna hear a lot of sirens.

Looks like the change from rain to ice is coming in ya area soon. They forecasting any significant accumulation of ice?
 Quoting: Master of Nothing

Just stuck my head outside. It gets colder and colder each time I do. It's raining lightly again now. We are to get rain off and on, mixed with sleet, for a good part of the night and overnight. Yet they don't think it will accumulate much. Not sure why, that makes no sense. The bad area is just barely SE of STL, so the reality is, one slight shift in this storm and we could get hit hard.

Yeah, that salt is a bitch. Last weekend I had to stop at a gas station just to clean off all my windows. I didn't want to get a car wash because I knew more crappy weather was coming, but it reached a point where I couldn't see out my rear or side windows anymore.

More snow in the old hood....cold rain here on the coast..

Winter Storm Warning
Issued at 11:24 Thursday 11 January 2018
Summary
Hazardous winter conditions are expected.

An Arctic front has now stalled near Abbotsford. Meanwhile, a Pacific storm will bring more snow to the Fraser Valley this afternoon.

The colder airmass over Hope and Chilliwack combined with the overriding moisture will produce significant snowfall over the area with the potential for freezing rain. Total snow accumulations of 20 to 30 cm are forecast before the snow tapers off to a few flurries late tonight. However, more snow is expected on Friday as another weather system arrives

I didn't know what was worse in Baltimore...all the salt residue, or the 'black snow' that would develop near busy roadways...yuck.
Don't think I'll see much of that here. One thing for sure, if it snows, I'm not going anywhere. Baltimore this is not.....

That pipeline of rainfall continues and brings flooding conditions. Then a bigger burst arrives tomorrow morning w/that tropical-ish disturbance.

-30 degree wind chills a few days ago and 52 degrees today. Snow melting everywhere.

About an 80 degree difference within a week.

Same exact thing here north of Boston. Tomorrow is going to be 57 degrees, and Sunday will be 24.

Lots of flooding concerns being mentioned on the local news.

In addition, a flood watch was in effect for 20 million people from Buffalo, New York, to Boston, as part of a different weather system that's bringing rain and unseasonably warmer temperatures to the Eastern Seaboard.

"We're real concerned about the potential flooding because already you got snow," said Weather Channel meteorologist Heather Tesch. "You're going to see the snow melting. You add rain on top of that — you’re going to find, too, we could see some ice jams coming in."
