Local roads, including Route 16 from Burger King into North Conway Village, were covered with at least a foot of water Wednesday evening, Conway police said on their Facebook page as they urged drivers to use caution when traveling and avoid the area if possible until the rain subsided.

Comments on the post talked about heavy rains and flooding in North Conway and Intervale, and pictures posted elsewhere on Facebook showed standing water on roads and cars throwing up spray as they passed through it on Route 16 and side streets in North Conway Village....
