SANTA CLARITA, Calf. (WFLA) — While the rest of us were debating where to abandon our trees, one woman decided to take hers back for a refund.

I'd shame the hell out of this woman. Then again that's part of why I sold my bookstore once upon a time. Retail has its own special hellish requirements.
 Quoting: Larry D. Croc

I believe they did shame her a bit before giving refund.

Entitlement people.

Who celebrates Scammers? They rightly earn the title roaches. I have insight into loss prevention at a department store. Black kids, white old ladies, Mexicans, white guys. The middle easterns and dot Indians don't steel, but they will scam just the same "negotiating" something for nothing, being told no 100 times and then trying to walk with it anyway.

Heard one yesterday: lady bought a cocktail dress, explained she went to Mexico and wants to return it now having barely busted it with fat ass after she turnt up in it....

PleAse get a better keystroke logger Trin. Its not supposed to be this obvious, damn man!

Hahaha. I could tell you some stories about dem Indians, and not the Native Americans. I no longer will deal with them. It makes me feel like the oxygen is being sucked out of me. Nope. Nada. Cannot do.

This crazy bitch bitch bought something intended to be as disposable as cigarettes. Wtf is wrong with Costco

LOL! I can't believe they gave her money back but they did.

Only in California.

No, thats people EVERYWHERE,,,,its 2018 and everyone has lost every sense of pride, morals, and ethics.

This is the new normal for behavior and expectations.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 56026143

Exactly. This is part of the "moral hazard" people talked about after the 2007-2008 crash. I told my husband back then that our "system" consists of rules and laws, but also trust and morals. When the trust and morals break down, watch out.

We should shun people like that woman, because the economic result of her behavior will be higher prices for the rest of us, not to mention tighter return policies that will make it harder and harder to make a legitimate return.

I knew someone who worked at Walmart - customer returned the bones of a rotisserie chicken and demanded a full refund, because the chicken wasn't "good". The department manager denied the refund request initially, but when the customer lost control of herself, the store manager was brought in and, not only issued the full refund, but asked the screaming customer if there was anything else he could do to make things right - the customer said "yes", and she asked for a free cake, which the store manager gave to her, as well. True story.

I believe it.

I mostly shop at Publix grocery store. I detest taking anything back, esp. at that store because they are so customer service oriented and are so nice about everything. I just am lazy, too about having to take something back.

I have stopped shopping at Aldi's because most things I have gotten there are moldy (vegs.), etc.

BTW, there's a listeria alert out (as of 1/6/18) now for produce for Aldi's, Saveway, Wallie World and other discount stores. I'll try to find that and make a thread on that.

I used to work at Radio Shack when I was a kid. It was in a tourist town. We had this all the time, we called them "Radio Shack Rentals"
People would buy metal detectors to find shit they lost at the beach and return them, they would buy walkie talkies for the drive home and return them at the Radio Shack in their home town (We would find out, because they would bill the store the item came from).
All sorts of crazy shit, bought for a day, and then returned.
The upside is I got so good at repackaging things, that you couldn't even tell they were used. Came in hand a couple of times over the years when I had to return something myself.
The outcome is not preordained.

Apparently. Just buy them at Costco and return all stubs in boxes with receipt and clip of this story. Fair is fair.

At least you didn't drag an already dead rootless 7 ft. tree back weeks upon weeks later.

Costco opened the door for the challenge of crazy. Idiots.

Walmart solved this problem by having a sign and store policy that said no holiday returns after December 24th.

Maybe she just called out Costco on how stupid and naive they are. This world is full of soulless freaks with no God spark or decency that will even murder people and murder their own kids if murdering was made legal

Time to put up more mountainous paperwork of store policy and walls of laws just to protect decent people from idiots
