Excellent post. Blood defies gravity by traveling back up your legs in the veins. It does this via the mechanism of muscle contractions experienced when moving about, walking etc. Even standing in one spot can aggravate clotting, which is why teachers and others standing idly during jobs develop varicose veins. Those are clogged veins. The varicose veins are the body trying to route around the clog.

Airplanes cars whatever makes you not move for extended periods is bad for the system as a whole. Then you DO move and all that slowed down clotted blood releases all at once. Not good.

Aspirin is good, its not a blood thinner, it simply makes your platelets more slippery. Blood thinners act upon the enzymes in your liver that cause blood to clot. Just be warned that not all thinners are the same, and your daily vitamin K intake can have an effect on the thinners. Or not. Depends.

Some thinners are reversible in case you get in an accident or cut yourself. People have bled out that way. Some are not reversible. Thats all worst case stuff. They have altered the way these medications work, some of the more modern ones lime xarelto may not need monitoring at all. Old stuff like warfarin do need constant monitoring.

Blood thinners are no joke. Do your homework.
