My parents left the Island during Papa Doc's regime. Actually, my parents fled as they were dissidents and their lives were in danger. I was born in the Capital of Haiti, Port au Prince, and am a naturalized American citizen. I think people are just too politically correct and "moist" in their feelings these days. It's accurate. I would never want to live there or any 3rd world country. As a black person who grew up in the hood, I know that a 3rd world country is 10x worse than the dboys and liquour stoe I had but I still had it good. A shit hole is a shit hole.
