Pills gave me a bad cough. So I went all natural. Started drinking hibiscus with cinnamon and ginger (all good for high blood pressure). So far so good. But I also take garlic and l arginine. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 73349994 Garlic and cinnamon are a part of his diet now, the hibiscus was new to me however. Have you measured your blood pressure since using it and how often are you taking it daily? The podcast recommendation was 2-3 8oz mugs of tea daily. “When you’re dead you’re dead, but you’re not quite so dead if you contribute something” -John Dunsworth |

Quoting: Rorschach Watchmen Was listening to a great podcast yesterday and the doctor was forward thinking and hailed a plant based diet. The subject was 10 amazing plants with incredible health benefits. According to her, hibiscus when drank in a tea 2-3 times a day, could lower systolic blood pressure. Even cited a clinical trial where 3 people were given hibiscus tea, and 3 were given a placebo tea. All had high blood pressure, and over the course of a week, and after drinking the hibiscus tea 2-3 times a day, they benefited from a 7.2 drop in systolic pressure. Does anyone here have any personal experience with this, I am thinking about ordering some for my father to try and was curious if anyone had a specific brand that was better than others? Thanks! I live in Hawaii and will not go without hibiscus tea. It will immediately lower pulse and blood pressure from the first cup on. Bright burgundy so it can stain teeth in time. Personally limit myself to one cup a day but know others who drink 2. |

Try frontier co-op or wherever you buy your herbs. They sell both organic and regular. I use their hibiscus in my own tea blend recipes. If you are drinking a lot you will save money and get high quality by buying it loose in bulk. I highly re recommend their herbs and flowers, their german chamomile flowers are tops, too. |

There is no need to ask a forum but if you have some courage left in you without ego on your shoulders look to your local Arab market grocer, they will sell some hibiscus tea. Just go in there and ask the staff for it they will help you out. Also give pomegranate and chia seeds a mix it will drop your high blood pressure and enjoy. Meditate if you can. YouAreHere! |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 86642848 One strong cup. After a nice dinner. Then straight to bed! Are you sure that's safe? Here's what WebMD says: "Oleander (Nerium oleander) is a flowering shrub. It contains chemicals called toxic cardiac glycosides, which can lead to death when consumed. The cardiac glycosides in oleander affect the heart. These chemicals can slow the heart rate down. Some of these chemicals might also kill cancer cells. People use oleander for heart failure, cancer, epilepsy, and many other conditions, but there is no good scientific evidence to support these uses. There is also no good evidence to support using oleander for COVID-19. Oleander is unsafe to use." [link to www.webmd.com (secure)] |

Back when mine was only slightly high (130ish/80), I could bring it back in the high normal range (120ish) with a very strong, concentrated hibiscus tea. Dried hibiscus petals are the only ingredient. Tadin is the brand. Moringa works even better. Ground leaves. I did it. I did it on purpose. And I'll do it again. |
