Oh, man. I was born in Hammond, grew up in Griffith. I love "The Region." There's just a peculiar strain of Prog/Left/Democrat there that spills over from corrupt Cook County Illinois. Lake County politics is always interesting. The Lake County Sheriff just got sentenced to 188 months in prison.I believe that makes way over 100 politicians, some high ranking in the county, put in jail in the last 30 years. FYI, Hammond is not what it used to be. It is just a couple of steps up from Gary. :(
