LOST NASA SATELLITE FOUND: Amateur astronomer finds satellite long thought dead
After over a decade of having no contact with ground control, an amateur astronomer has discovered NASA's lost satellite.

The discovery of Imager for Magnetopause-to-Aurora Global Exploration or IMAGE opens the possibility of continuing its already successful mission.

On Dec. 18, 2005, NASA's ground control did not receive telemetry signals from IMAGE during a routine pass and the satellite did not respond to any commands since then. At the time, there was a number of possibilities that could have caused the failure but it was ultimately attributed to an "instant trip" of the controller that supplies power to the satellite's transponder.

Over a decade after its last signals were detected on Earth, IMAGE seems to be phoning home. It has just been discovered, still broadcasting, by an amateur astronomer who was not even looking for it in the first place.

In a blog post, Scott Tilley describes that while searching High Earth Orbit for signs of the mysterious Zuma satellite, he detected signals from satellite 2000-017A instead, the IMAGE satellite thought to have been long dead.

Please let me expand

Astronomer looking Zuma in its supposed parking orbit, found a satellite they they said was lost and not working.

It only makes sense to purposely send up the secret Zuma telling everyone its headed to this orbit where there is a defunct satellite.

Zuma is alive and working and this was part of the plan, however, i dont think they thought someone would find the lost satellite and tell everyone.

Zuma had detach trajectory problems, rumors spread across the net to muddy the waters about if the satellite even became live.

I believe this satellite is well beyond the NSA spying and is possibly related to the missile intercept system.

the switch is design to disguise the satellite from enemy search and destroy satellites

uh-oh...NASA isn't going to like this. What if it has been broadcasting the whole time, but they didn't want anyone else to know this. Seriously, with all of the other supposed orbiters and trackers up there, they must have known where this thing was and were still collecting data from it. I fear that Tilley may be "disappeared" and his equipment confiscated as a result of revealing this discovery.
