Heck, I nearly missed my flight in Ecuador because I didn't want to give up my pocket knife my wife bought for my birthday. I was arguing with them for a good 30 minutes, and I ended up selling it to one of the guys. Nobody forced her to do anything. She did it for whatever reason. Either she momentarily snapped, she did it for attention, I have no idea, but the airline is not at fault here. She had options and she didn't need to do this. No one in their right mind would ever flush a living pet down a toilet nor would they make someone do it. I think she should be charged with animal cruelty. Right, the airline who approved the pet onboard for the flight, then switched to "sorry m'am, you have to flush it down the toilet to keep your flight," have absolutely zero culpability here... Everyone was wrong on every level. There is no good side here. The only innocent one in all this was the hamster. When you have airlines that treat people like cattle vs millennials who can't think their way out of a paper bag, then everyone around them loses. |
