Anonymous Coward User ID: 80870352 09/14/2021 07:31 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | quit dairy Quoting: Catseye almond milk, almond and coconut ice cream, coconut cream for coffee, there are all kinds of dairy alternatives now I was allergic (or so I thought) to cats most of my life until I realized dairy was the main culprit, making my immune system hypersensitive to things that normally wouldn’t bother me like cats and pollen now I have 4 cats and no problem also try an oil diffuser with essential oil mixtures for breathing, my favorite is Respire by Living Pure every now and then I’ll cheat too much with dairy and end up sneezing for a couple of days, I love Bailey’s Irish Cream! like if I have Bailey’s a few days in a row and some yogurt if you absolutely have to cheat once in awhile, take a strong digestive enzyme that will digest most of the milk protein, casein, and that will lessen the confusion for the immune system, I like Digest Spectrum by Enzymedica, cheap ones won’t do it, I’ve tried the main allergens wheat, dairy, corn and soy are bad not because of an actual allergic reaction (rare) but because the proteins are long and tightly wound, making them extremely difficult to break apart and digest with our body’s enzymes undigested food feeds the bad bacteria in the intestines and causes inflammation in the intestinal lining and all over, confusing the immune system Cheese and bread noooooooooo I make my own breads and my family will kill me, joking. How about sour dough breads, same issues? Cheese - that is the stuff we all eat a lot of. dairy is known to produce more mucous, wheat and corn and soy have their own issues but dairy is the main one for sinus and asthma related issues, cheese is packed with the milk protein casein, if you can’t get off cheese then at least take the digestive enzyme that digests casein but don’t waste time with a cheap one, you can really tell the difference I make my own bread, too! I use the almond milk and gluten free flours if you can find a holistic doc that uses muscle testing you can go through a list of foods pretty quickly and know what you have a problem with goat cheese is not as bad as cow cheese, BTW I do miss cheese, and sour dough bread! you can try raw milk cheeses, they’re usually available at health food stores, the proteins haven’t been super pasteurized which contributes to them being harder to digest, I had good luck with them when I was in FL, I can’t get all the same goodies down here Oh yeah. I've found that cutting out wheat, grains, sugar and dairy has also helped a lot! I'm severely allergic to gluten - it gives me severe asthma. I think most people with asthma have bad food allergies. Yes. I can't say yes enough. Gluten. Big problem for me. I have to stay clear of it. Big adjustment but so worth it. |

Shampoos, soaps, laundry detergents, perfumes, etc.,can also be triggers. Use more natural products. If you are clean you don't need to smell like a field of spring wildflowers. If you try it, please let us know how you go. Good luck! Many years ago an old fashion doctor, you know the good ones, did everything he could think of to get rid of a chronic cough I had after a bout of pneumonia. He finally prescribed iodine. I was to put 10-20 drops, I don't remember which one, in a glass of water. Cough gone in a few days. I forgot all about that. Didn't have asthma going on at that time, I was something I "out grew" from childhood but it did break up the mucus. It wasn't the iodine you put on wounds, it was more of a yellow color. I didn't need a script for it but only the pharmacist could give it to me. Right now, I know hot steam showers, coffee, dandelion root and yerba santa can help, but I think pine needle and pine sap oil extracts may also be useful.
